I think you're overestimating Hyrule Warriors' appeal. The game is primarily just a way for them to cash in with the Japanese , and i doubt the game will get much notice in its Western release.

That would be nice, but I'm not holding my breath. The only way I see this being true is if Nintendo realized they needed to get all most all of their big franchises out early and decided to ramp up development.

You're correct, but that's precisely why this works. Hyrule Warriors going for full price is a tough nut even for many hardcore Nintendo/Zelda fans to crack. But at sub $30, it becomes more of an appealing novelty for Nintendo/Zelda fans.
Hyrule Warriors was never made to be AAA title/system seller, it's made to make a little quick easy money for Tecmo and Nintendo.
I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016
I'd be surprised if even Hyrule Warriors game comes to US in 2014. In either case, it will be crap.
An actual Zelda game from the Zelda team in 2014 on Wii U? I don't think so. They just released their last Zelda game last year for 3DS. It will take them till 2015 or longer to release a Zelda game for Wii U.
Zelda U has been ready for display since 1-2 years ago. It's launching this year people I'm fairly certain.
Walmart says Zelda 2 but there already is a second Zelda game. Then it says RPG and the second Zelda is the only Zelda RPG so far.
Conclusion:
NIntendo is releasing a NES game for 99 bucks :)
I mean after they successfully sold a Gamecube game for 60 bucks...........

I'd say SMT X FE, Mario Party, and Animal crossing are all likely contenders.
