So now it's basically a glorified Wii U Pro Controller with touchpads instead of joysticks, and buttons instead of a proper frakking D-pad now? Not interested. I already have a Pro Controller, so I think I'll just wait for Linux and Windows drivers to be released for the clearly superior Xbox One gamepad.
Now if only I hadn't missed out on my chance to get that sexy Titanfall controller...

many PC games already use the ABXY buttons, so I think it was logical to buy the license to use them rather than trying to set an own new standard |
They have to buy a licence to use ABXY? ...from who?

well, I assumed Microsoft holds the license and collects royalties for it's use as afaik they came up with the design

I had a DC myself (and only sold it last year), so I know that the color code on the DC pad is different.
SNES has abxy aswell, but in different positions and again with a different color code.
So, I think MS holds the license for that layout the Steam controller uses, as it's the exact same as the Xbox controllers.
Shitty controller is still shitty.

So, basically they caved in the face of all the ridicule they got and made a standard controller.
I am the Playstation Avenger.
