Fall back on Quality of Life products.

This is a nice debate. But I would like to have the good tech guys from here say some words on the possibility of the supposed handheld get connected to the console, like a dock station that would thus make the handheld more powerful, while running the same games. Then you could choose to buy the handheld only for, say, $ 200, or the complete piece for $ 300 or 350. I would be game fot the last one, although it seems very unjlikely (the failure of the PCs that tried something similar is out there to show us).

A large corporation flush with cash attempts to buy them. Contenders are:

Microsoft

Could either be a disaster or the best thing ever. My vote would be for Samsung. They would make an impressive piece of hardware and get Nintendo's other business operations in line. They'd probably tighten up ship dates for products too. Better, new management lifts the brand out of obscurity.

This is what I see happening too.  Make a powerful handheld, with the ability to connect to larger displays and use bluetooth controllers.  They might as well stick with the market that's making them money.

Nothing will be announced until 2015 at the earliest, but 2016 is more probable, and then it'll be their next handheld console. The next home console will be announced in 2016, or 2017, but only if they can come up with a unique selling point and a relatively cheap price (ca $249) - AND it'll have to be at least as powerful as PS0ne, but preferably it'll have to be noticeably better, running 1080p at 60fps without problems.

So many fucking Nintendoom threads from you lately, spurge. Knock it off. Don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about. Of the past 15 threads from you, 9 of them are something negative about Nintendo, its systems, or its software. Anything from "this is lame" to "let's talk about Nintendo's doomed future" like this one. Crappy quality threads, most of them with little more than a sentence in the OP, and the only Nintendo thread you've made that was remotely positive recently was the "which year of do you like the most" which also had almost nothing in the OP. Put some effort in your threads, and stop being so negative all the time.

I dont think they will show off a new one this e3.
the 3ds is doing well and I think the wii U still has a year or two left.
Maybe they should set up an online platform, maybe streaming, thats where the future is heading but nintendo's online infrastructure is the weakest of the lot as it stands.

They won't show it off at this e3, or even the next one.

I do agree that they'll create a hybrid console that's both portable and console-compatible, and that they'll be able to focus all of their resources to purely that instead of dividing between portable and console.

Yea, I do play a lot of Wii U. I really like the system and wish it were doing a bit better. I haven't played it for a few days now since I picked up Titanfall, that game is very fun! And I also picked up Thief for Ps4 but haven't played it yet.

We should do some 007 legends multiplayer this weekend. I haven't put that game in yet but probably will later on.
