No, if NPD showed PS4 with 280k and Xone with 143k, VGChartz was overtracking both. PS4 by about 50k and Xone by more than 100k.

The pricecut is for the Titanfall bundle that comes out tomorrow in the UK.
Also these sales don't include the Titanfall bundle WW. Just standard Xbox Ones.

The price cut was immediate in the UK on the solus version, but still think people would wait for the free game with titanfall bundle

Solus means standard version? But oh ok I thought it was for the Titanfall bundle and everything after the 14th.
With this "that" bad numbers, I'm not even sure One could outsell PS4 globally even just one week.
And if NPD shows that VGchartz undertracked PS4's or overtracked One's numbers again, that's almost a sure thing. But I won't be on that unreliable website anymore.
So you people need to worry about the fact that the fight is against PS3 here. Which is bad.

Oct. 2000: 391,245 So, the PS4 had a significantly better launch and a somewhat better first January than the PS2 in the U.S. Here's how it sold in Japan its first 13 weeks/3 months according to Famitsu: Week 1: 630,552 The PS4 is selling less than the PS2, but it's dropping at a similar rate. It had a bigger drop its second week but a shallower drop its third week. I don't expect it to jump up over the next couple of week, but neither do I expect it to keep bleeding out to PS3-level sales by this summer, either. We'll just have to wait and see. As for Europe, we don't have any actual sales figures, but according to Sony by March 31, 2001 it had shipped 2,850,000 units, which puts an upper limit on total sales. Assuming a similar sell-through rate as in NA — and assuming the U.S. accounted for 90% of all sales and shipments in NA, that's a sell-through rate of 78.6% —, it could have sold fewer than 2.3 million units. Even a sell-through of 90% gives us 2,565,000 units, a a sell-through of 95% gives us just over 2.7 million. So far the PS4 has sold 2,224,000 units in Europe and could hit 2.4 million by the end of this month. So the PS4 is likely selling roughly on par with the PS2 in Europe, maybe a bit more, maybe a bit less. |
Cool thanks very much for the figures :)
So excluding Japan PS4 seems to be almost or pretty much on par with PS2, so that's good I guess!
What on earth happened in March 2001 to make the PS2 rise so much?
