Game changer... you need to try first to see.

Bluray and streaming flopped? What?

But yes VR is a joke, but I said the same about motion controls and it seemed to do very well.

Specifically 3D Blu-ray and 3D streaming.

Blu-ray and streaming on their own are both obviously a huge success.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Even if it's really good, doesn't change the fact you have to put this strange thing on your head.

If you want to look like a moron then yes, take it seriously by all means!

Yeap but it is not a big deal for me ... I tried the Oculus last year and I'm sold.

3D television/Blu-ray/streaming flopped. The steroscopic 3D of 3DS isn't it's strongest selling point of the device.

... and now you're expecting people to put this on their heads?

That ^, is still just too eerily similar to this V

And I think if Sony does a VR headset like those ^^, it would be a tremendous failure commercially. It would cripple Sony's game development for a looong while if they take a gambit like this.

I just don't see how reducing the usabality of 3D technology makes any commercial sense whatsoever -- especially when prior 3D advancements still haven't caught on.

Am I the only one who thinks this?

Have you used it? People who have all came away very impressed.

So just 3D in other words.

Also I edited out this part: "but I said the same about motion controls and it seemed to do very well." Because Kowen is right. VR is so incredibly niche and so nerdy that even I'm not interested in it.

Blu-ray and streaming did not flop; they are the industry standard. As for the 3D bit; the main reason why 3D has failed several times is that it has yet to be presented as immersive and complete, the 3D we've been getting has been terrible at best.

That said, I'm not terribly excited about current VR projects, it will be many years until we see a truly worthwhile effort on this front.

which is a problem in of itself.

given how dumb that thing looks i imagine a ton of people will refuse to even try it.

Have you used Oculus? It is FAR from a joke or gimmick.
