Forums - Nintendo - Batman Arkham Knight not coming to WiiU. Warner slowing down support?

Is this the last year we see core support from third parties

Yes 224 68.71%

No 100 30.67%

Total:324

I still think we're going to see a Wii U version. There are plenty of games so far that haven't had the Wii U version announced until later. Arkham Origins is one of them funnily enough. That wasn't announced until a matter of weeks before the thing launched as far as I remember.

You are right, we have no gameplay footage yet, for that I apologize. I was thinking about the press release that said it would have the batmobile.

However, being Rocksteady, I presume it will have the Batman Arkhan City level of quality, now imagine how hard it is to insert a vehicle in such a gorgeous game and not make it look ridiculous, meaning, having decent physics, movement, integration with the world, even sound. That concept blew my mind and I really don´t know how the Xbox One and Ps4 even can pull it out.

Of course, it can be only a GTA Batman, with half assed graphics and just a much more simple and organic gameplay, it can be a game that would run on wiiU, but, for some reason, Warner, that supported the console before, dropped it out this time.

Actually, maybe they will say it will come to WiiU in the future, that would make things very interesting.

What I meant is: I know that Nintendo is in trouble getting 3rd party support, but from now on the trouble will come also from power, no only because of the install base size.

What do you think?

That said, you are totally right, we do not have any idea yet what kind of game it is, yet.

I wonder what the future holds, if the WiiU was selling more, would everybody port everything for it from now on? I mean, it has a 6 million units install base and it is growing at a steady pace, so, it is not by any means a super failure like Atari Jaguar or Virtual Boy (those, I believe, sold less than 1 million).

What do you think?

Sorry. But given current situation this game wont (and shuldnt) come to wii uo. Nintendo was late to release wii u.

But, only because of sales? I do not own a WiiU yeat, and never seen it in real life, only internet, so I dont know how powerful it really is. Do you think it could run a Batman game with the batmobile and the amazing Rocksteady´s level of quality?

Poor sales and weak hardware are main reason. Honestly. Please stop tagging me in these posts. No matter what you guys say for wii u's favor it wont work. From a business perspective wii u is a lost platform. Its not good for third party publishers. Third party games usually dont sell well in it.

In the form of Nintendo collaborations (Japanese devs). Lego City Undercover, Sonic Lost Worlds, SMT X FE, Hyrule Warriors etc

All those are published by Nintendo, they are as much 3rd party titles as Quantum Break or The Order: 1886 are.

published means exclusive. unless it's developed by nintendo or a studio they own, it's 3rd party.

No 3rd party is published by a third party. A third party exclusive would be something like Persona 5 which is published by Atlus but only coming to the PS3. usually we call games developed by an indipendent studio published by a first party either a 2nd party game or a 1st party game. I mean if we go around calling games like Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon 3rd party because it was developed by Next Level Games 3rd party then the term loses all meaning.

"game changing", I had to laugh. first, it would only take some small downgrades and resolution drops to run it on wii u.

second, I think you haven't been watching games for the last years. Nowadays, even major graphical downgrades are just that: GRAPHICAL. 0 game changing.

After downgrading everything to fit the hardware:

You're right. I see no difference whatsoever! xD

LMAO

Well I did say 'as far as I remember'. It certainly wasn't announced the same time as the other versions. Same goes for both CoD games too.

it wasnt announce same time, but so what. Those games were announced with PLENTY of time to spare. In the summer with a winter release. Thats months in between. But im willing to bet there wont be a WIi U version. Had there been a PS360 version, then yeah.

A thing to keep in mind is that Arkham Origins: Blackgate HD

is...infact...coming to the WiiU.

WB will/ has dropped the WiiU like a hot potatoe, but there is still one shitty game to look forward too !
