Xbone have two memory pools against 1 of ps4 that is 100% more and have the only true 1080p60fps on. The 8th gen proving that ps4 is the one needing to catch up.

wait...isn't 2:1 200% more?

your argument is even better now!

Well... 100% more = 200% of.

but following op research methods maybe 200% more is right.

Shouldn't we sum the individual cache speed as well? They are memories.

Memory size is also a killer, with trillions of petabytes of ram in the cloud it is gugol% better than ps4 ram.

Cloud have 40 extra x1 for each bought, with an secret dgpu, tiled resources and directx 12 i see x1 geeting 10000% better. So in Xmas '15 we will see 25k120fps games on x1 showing in the 5th dimension.

This is a joke Post based on exagerated rumours, prs and expectations.

I am taking note for a technical paper I will publish soon on the subject, it will be REVOLUTIONARY! and EVERYONE will get an xbox because resolution does not matter, but anyway it will pull through with the hot sauce and the clouds and all the CPU + GPU cores cache bandwidth added together TV from 2145 will not have enough resolution to display what this machine can do! not that anyone can see resolutions above 320X200 anyway!

Basically to explain #3 (which is the OP's arguement) in more detail. PS3 has 5 drives of RAM (Disk Drive Rate type 5 synchronous) where XB1 has 3 (+ the tiny ESRAM).

5 drives with 8GB of bandwidth opperating at 172 GB/s >>>>>> 3 drives with 8GB of bandwidth + 1 drive with 32 MB of bandwidth

I have NO IDEA what you are trying to tell here...

PS4 - 8GB of RAM which make 5 operations at once, or 40GB of total operating power.

XB1 - 8GB of RAM which make 3 operations at once, or 24GB of total operating power.

0.032GB of super fast RAM, even with the ridiculous compression ratio (187.5x more powerful due to the compression) the OP suggests, will not make up the 16GB difference of operating pwer the XB1 is missing.

esram bandwith + ddr 3 bandwith = undefined

addition between different types of bandwith is not defined.

Not really, the OP claims that 0.032GB of ESRAM = 2GB of ddr3 badwidth RAM

Too bad DDR5 is 4x faster then DDR3.

You can use my trustworthy sources in http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=179926&page=1# to help your essay.

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

If you think about it you can add USB SSD hard drives to the XB1 which normally have around 400-500MB/s read/write speed and BOOM add 3 of them then you got like an extra 1.5GB/s of extra bandwidth!

I take it my irony meter isn't working since I still have no clue at all what you are talking about.. Then again, there is so much technical nonsense posted in this thread that is probably why my irony meter busted almost in the first posting...

The PS4 has GDDR5 memory (and extra 256MB DDR3 for random stuff) while the Xbox One has DDR3 memory. Basically the ram memory that the PS4 has is faster, but I don't know if that really influences much. I'm not a tech guy to that degree.

Well, the faster memory is only good that it keeps the GPU + CPU fed with data all the time, given that the PS4 has a faster GPU, well it needs faster memory to take advantage of it (I.E.: The slower memory on the xbox one is not perfect, but it's fine with the demands that the GPU + CPU will have for it most of the time... it would still be better if MS took the route of completely unified memory just to make the developers' lives easier, thus making optimisation work more straightforward than if they have to manage the esram, or worry about it in some way, as opposed to just worrying about the GPU's functionality).

In short: the CPU + GPU are doing the work, the RAM was just picked by each companie's engineers according to the respective system's expected bandwidth requirement.
