Nintendo is not trying to be like EA period.

Yup, Maelstrom was always very small minded in his views on Nintendo and why he thought they were a success.  In anycase, the two companies have very different business practices, so the whole thing is kinda of silly.

Dude lame as hell, he just keeps comparing a hardware company who happens to make arguable the best games in the industry to software companies and brings some random dude who works at nintendo from the bottom in to say that EA makes good money despite what people say (not saying that he even liked EA just high respect for the amount of money they make) "Despite what people say, EA is an amazing company. Look at the profits they bring in." and then making the claim that this guys opinion must be the entire companies opinion because everyone loves their supervisors and believe what ever they believe lol wow how lame can you get...stopped reading after that part because it was gay. The wii's decline was mainly to the fact that everyone already had one in its first 3 years it already sold 70% of its total liftetime sales 70 million in 3 years is pretty amazing. You have to expect a big drop off by that point (BTW ps2 had a dvd player thats why it has such a strong life) no doubt lack of 3rd party games contributed to the big drop off and longevity of the system but mostly people had already bought one that wanted one by that point. I love how he says mario and zelda etc. are iterations i guess call of duty uncharted killzone halo and the lot are just "iterations" because i already played halo and halo 2 so i guess "i shouldn't play any one after that because i feel i've already played it before.) yeah if any game should be called an iteration its FPS's (which i like btw)Bottem line garbage article this guy is a fucktard hater who don't know what he is talking about

So, are we supposed to ignore the fact that FIFA is a licensed brand, and that the success of these games has a lot to do with the popularity of football around the world ? How would these games sell if EA didn't have exclusive rights to it ?

Personally, I've always prefered Pro Evolution... (and International SuperStar Soccer before it...) That is, until I got tired of football sims, around 2010.

Yeah, it's hard to say that EA deserves any real credit for FIFA, aside from being able to wrangle the license. Suit-skills are not dev-skills.

Indeed. And in case people have already forgotten, it's also hard to say EA has high quality standards for the franchise as a whole...
