Seems many grown up Zelda fans would like the IP to grow up with them.

Twilight Princess was by far their best attempt.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

My dear, show me the game that does what skyward sword does without a motion +. I'll wait.

Twilight Princess does everyting but the sword.  Twlight Princess sword only used 4 directions, SS uses 8 despite the ablity to use more (which is why it failed to actualy make use of 1:1 controls), Tenchu on Wii used 8 directions same as SS for one example.  If you want to look at other platforms, Metal Gear Rising allows actual full directional control of its blade and gives tem a use, and that uses an analogue stick.

skyward sword sword movement uses infinite direction and the battles make full use of it. answering my own question (something you didnt do): no game comes even close to doing what skyward sword does, if it's only using a regular wii mote + nunchuck.

how can the art style possibly affect the content? TP was very poor in content, even if everyone liked the looks of it.

Twilight Princess was very poor in content? Compared to what other Zelda games?

It seemed to follow the a similar overworld/dungeon progression as other entries. Except it was darker and link looked badass for a change.

I'd really love to see a futuristic or steampunk version of this series. I'm really surprised this wasn't listed as an option in the poll, as the rumor mill was spinning with this idea for a while while fans fantasized about Retro working on the series.

There's so many ways the series can go in this direction, and you'd probably be more likely to attract the Sony/Microsoft fans as well. But as someone has been stating recently in a thread here, Nintendo is afraid to make that drastic of a change.

ALL of them. huge empty world, lifeless npc charachters, giant easy bosses...

For me SS looks much better than TP despite of both running in the same engine. but that was Wii and SD.
On WiiU i would go for more flashy visuals that make good use of shading and particles.
It has to set a new standard on non-realistic game visuals like WW did.
I would hate to see a Zeldarksiders honestly. Enough of gritty dark mature games.
Zelda Musou looked alright. Very manga-ish. Of course i expect a lot more from a Nintendo main team and 3+ years of hard work.

Huge empty world? Sounds more like Wind Waker. Lifeless npc characters? Sounds like all Zelda games, except for Skyward Sword (The first game in the series where I feel the characters had actual charm throughout the game, but that's due to the competence of the cut-scenes more than anything else). Giant easy bosses? It's the same as any other 3D Zelda game. The Zelda series isn't notoriously known for its challenges.

Twilight Princess has tons of content. Lots of side quests, 5 heart pieces to find to form a new Heart Container instead of the usual 4. Two versions of the same world you can travel to seemlessly, each with their own flavor and objectives. More usable items (don't be fooled by the Skyward sword's upgrade system here), a world that is actually filled with stuff to do, as opposed to Skyward Sword's devoid sky, more dungeons than Skyward Sword, and on par with Wind Waker (although they're much longer in Twilight Princess than in Wind Waker). The list goes on. There's A LOT of content in Twilight Princess. But just like with any argument you get into, you'll just go "WHA WHA WHA THIS IS NOT TRUE BECAUSE I DON'T LIKE THIS!"

Moderated,

I don't care what the art style is, just make a good game. Although they already have Wind Waker on the Wii U, so it might as well be something different than that style.
