I remember very well. I didn't have much money back then. I had finally saved just enough to buy the slim version that was just released. I had to wait a week before i had enough to buy ff10 too lol.

June 2002 - Got it with Kingdom Hearts, Maximo and XG3 : Extreme G Racing.

In 2001 for christmas! My dad got it for my brothers and me! Even though we did not have games to play on Christmas My dad forgot that you need games to play on the PS2 We still loved the gift and played the demo disc for days! That SSX demo blew my freakin mind!

I got a PS2 as a surprise present for Christmas one year (2002, maybe?); I got ATV Offroad Fury 2 with it, I had a good time with that game even though I'm not a huge racing fan.

October 2001 I believe. Got my paper round just to buy it :)

I then bought Fifa 2002 before realising how much better PES was :(

I remember playing Kingdom Hearts and Sonic Heroes on it, but that's it. I didn't play much then...

I got my first Ps2 on my birthday from my parents. i think i was 14 at that time. That time was living in malaysia so all ps2 purchased from retail stores were already Modded so i can't remember how many games i got that day . it was an awesome machine at the time

Forgot to add as a result i ended up owning over 1000 games on it XD

2001 holidays, what a great day, and awesome surprise.
We got it from the father of my cousin that we looked after the whole holidays.
He just gave it to us and thats it. what a great day :)
I got it along with the Demo CD :D great CD hahaha
And soon after we got Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance, what a great game that was, Co-op in highend form.
Then Zone of the Enders, Metal Gear 2 and Dynasty warriors, oh how I loved those games
