I don't remember the exact date but I do remember how I got it. ;)

My mom asked, "for your birthday what do you want, a car?" (she even gave me a hint)

I replied, "Nah, too much pollution and I don't have cash for gas get me a PS2 instead"

and the rest was history. lol! (of course, she just handed me the money and I had to buy it myself) xD

Yeah, Christmas 2003 with Gran Turismo 3. A little late but PS1 & N64 had me happy plenty of years :P

UK launch when I got mine and I do remember the Box only got rid of it last year.

I could never forget, My first game was FFX :)

I discovered that unlike the Dreamcast and the Gamecube PS2's 60 fps mode didn't work on my TV. How could I forget?

All I can remember was some fighting game being the first game I played. Wasn't Tekken or Soul Caliber, hence I can't remember it! Dx
Then there was this game where you got different weapons of different colors which I really liked, yet can't remember the name of either. I remember Armored Core though! Man it's been so long haha!

Pre-ordered one before I left for Basic Combat Training and my sister shipped it to me when I was at Ft. Benning for Airborne school. Had a lot of fun playing DOA2 during my third weekend off after I got tired of off duty partying.

Oddly, I don't remember much of what I played in 2001 during my first duty station. In retrospect, the PS2/6th gen era was kind of a quiet one where I bought quite a few games, but spent more time doing video game things in real life rather than playing them in a game.

It wasn't until the PS3 came out that I got back into gaming as a hobby when my track car's engine was being rebuilt.
