I was talking with a friend today and he said that over 80% of Wii U owner's previous console was a Nintendo Wii. I disagree with him but what was the previous console you bought before you bought a Wii U?

EDIT: We're just talking about Home consoles, not handhelds.

Ps3, its probably the best console with the most varied games of the 7th generation, but it was missing something that I love dearly which is Nintendo games... So, as with every home console gen, I always buy Nintendo first followed by Sony cause to me, I enjoy Nintendo games far more than games on competitive consoles cause the main benefit of the other consoles is third party which I have my gaming PC for

Sony, of course, has games such as FF and Jrpgs that you cannot get on Nintendo platform which is why I get them secondly

Well, when I finally purchase a Wii U in late May or early June, due to Mario Kart 8 being released, the last console I would have purchased before the Wii U is the PS3. I'm super excited to buy the Wii U.

A wii for my boy but for me it would be a xbox 360 way back in '05

Home console? PS3, though if we're counting handhelds as well then PS Vita.
