Well if we're excluding handhelds for some reason, then the last console I obtained is the 360, but the home console I mainly play on now is the PS3, though I didn't actually buy either of those consoles. Only the Wii, so idk really know which would be the right answer. xD

Sorry, didn't mean to confuse you.  Let's see...the next console I plan on buying is the Wii U.  That won't happen until after Mario Kart 8 is released in late May, mainly because I don't have the money at the moment.  So, after I do buy a Wii U then the last console I will have bought before the Wii U is the PS3.  Does that help any?  I probably should answer this after I actually buy a Wii U; however, by then this topic may be lost in the hundreds that exist.  So, I saw a need to answer it truthfully right now.

I know, no handhelds but:
Wii -> DS -> Gaming PC -> 3DS -> Wii U -> PS3 -> PS4 sometime this year

PS4 at launch was last console I bought before Wiiu. Which I got the wiiu thanks to the great deal at Sams Club.

This is a great poll and should explain to people the Wii U's situation. So many make the false assumption that Wii owners were either Wii exclusive or casual gamers. Many people picked up a Wii at launch cause it was cool and new and hyped, then later picked up an PS360 to play AAA multiplats they were missing and to have HD games on their new HDTVs.

I picked up a Wii in 2007 at the height of Wii Madness when even a year after launch you had to wait in lines for the weekly shipment at Walmart. It was pretty awesome with Wii Sports, Zelda TP and Mario Galaxy. I picked up an XBox 360 after a price drop a couple years later.

Should have asked if WiiU owners owned a Wii beforehand. I plan to buy a WiiU, and I already own a Wii, but it wasn't the last home console I bought. For me:

2007: X360
2009: PS3
2011: Wii
2013: PS3 again (mine broke out of warranty)
2013: 3DS
2014: WiiU/PS4 (likely going to buy within days of each other, if not on the same day)
