It seems you expect everything bad to happen from Nintendo. E3 will be much better than last years, as Nintendo has learned they need to improve marketing and advertise. 

I voted for the second option. But this time around I don't even have moderate hype. My hype level for this E3 is non-existant.

My prediction
-Zelda U trailer
-NFC toys
-1 new annouced WiiU game
-Metroid for 3DS

I don't think I've seen anyone be so consistently pessimistic. Are you okay?

OT: They definitely will announcement. They know how much is on the line.

It's not about expecting them to do only bad things. But last time TP worked a lot better than Skyward Sword.

For them it's better go full on board on the next console as the Wii U is already dry. A Zelda 2015 won't help, in fact, it will be a big waste potential. Better release at launch on the succesor and hype throught the roof. Same expected for Retro's new game.

They will release Hyrule Warriors, maybe MM3D and TPHD during 2014-2015 and it will be enough Zelda for them.

At this point a big Zelda for U is just wasting money in a sinked ship. Better use it for a great launch. Iwata will surely explains it telling investors Wii U was a transtition console where they learned about HD development and because of that developed new tools for better and faster production between handheld and console.

I wouldn't and many others would be angered. Whats the point of killing of the WiiU and using up so much money and resources on releasing a console that will be equal to PS4/XB1 and possibly fail worse than The U? Redesign/rebranding would be much more effective for sales and support.

I don't know if this is inverse psychology or you are really pessimistic when it comes to Nintendo. They will show Zelda no matter what, it's one of the last cards they have.

Many others are not buying it, so it doesn't matter if just few get angered. The brand is already hurt. Wii Brand is dead and it's better for them to move on. Rebranding won't help as the name is not the problem, is the console. It's not about putting more space in the HDD or making blue or red, it's about releasing games.

No matter how hard you rebrand it, it will be still a Wii U.

I just wonder if they're going to do E3 direct again, or try to push it more.

The direct approach has advantages, but don't get enough visibility. Perhaps a pre-recorded video but still run through the Kodak Theatre (or whatever venue), to avoid the hiccups that plague live Keynotes, but get the hype out more at the same time.

90 minutes shouldn't be hard to scrape together. Maybe emphasize the Watch Dogs version that's pushed back. Airtime for Sonic Boom. Maybe a third party surprise or two.

3DS will be the interesting one. There's not much going on there.

Nintendo said that they almost displayed Zelda at last year's e3 but it just wasn't quite ready...no chance for it to not show this year.
