It's fixed by fully installing the game to your PS4 (which it seems DF didn't do).

So they did their entire comparison with the not loaded into the ps4? They loaded it into the x1 first, then after that was done did an on the fly comparison? Yeah, ok. That doesn't at all sound like a load of bs.

The X1 version requires it to be fully installed, The PS4 version doesn't, so it appears they didn't bother. Seeing as they also completely neglected  to mention various problems with the X1 version (read through the thread), I don't find it surprising at all they didn't fully installing the PS4 version. It's not BS, nor is it DF being MS fanboys (as some have suggested), it's just a plainly bad assessment of the two versions.

Exactly. If they can't be trusted here, then don't use their word for anything. Well said too talls.

I almost never do.

Not with their comparisons anayway. I like the analysis they do with games when they're not focused on nitpicking between versions. Like mario 3dworld, Killzone, Ryse and so forth.

DF gave the nod to the bone? noo00 they are fanboys, throw out everything they ever said including all the favorable ps4 comparisons.

Some are sure picky with what they choose to support.

Or both of you could see that from a less childish way, they just made a mistake ( not like if it was their first), because of rushed  comparison about a game nobody care.

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

I don't buy the notion that it was a rushed comparison. from ghost came out people found out pieces of the game were missing when they played it before the install was complete. it's common knowledge that that happens to ps4 games even to people like me that don't own the system. look at what it is DF does. They compare game visuals and now over two months after the ps4 released, the likeliness that they would analyze a ps4 game before it finished installing is very low. A random screen shot from someone else doesn't prove anything, the screenshot itself had no way to prove what platform it was even running on.

^Yes that's me ripping it up in the GIF. :)

This whole article is really a mess by DF and completely ruined their reputation (on NeoGaf too).

They completely ignored better resolution and better framerate on PS4.

They lied on the POM completely missing on XB1 and the worse shadows pop-in on XB1 (not the contrary as they said).

But the texture streaming problem during loading (did they pre-installed the game on PS4? I wonder now...) and some worse texture filtering on PS4 (but some texture are sharper on PS4 due to better resolution too) made it a XB1 win?

It's no more cherry picking, it's blatant lie and biased conclusion here.

The likeliness is very high if the PS4 version doesnt require installation.

and rushed comparison is proved by the lack of mention on aliasing/Mop/framerate/pop-in  in their conclusion.

What's with that flag rendering slow as shit on the PS4? You sure that isn't the Xbone version with it's slower memory?

X1 has faster texture fetching due to eSRAM so I'm not one bit surprised about it. Other than that, all I read was blahblahblah PC master race blahblahblah anyways.

lol

another clueless dude.

PS4 uses trilinear filtering and xbone use AF

this has nothing to do with hardware.

same thing happened with Strider

I'm talking about how UE3 works with layered effects when streaming assets, AFx16 wouldn't make the difference "that" big in the ss. If you don't know what I was talking about, maybe you shouldn't call me clueless without knowing how the engine even works to start with so you don't sound like a nub.

Bottom line: if digital foundry said ps4 version was superior, Sony fans would add another notch to their bragging belts. Since they didn't, those same Sony fans are crying foul. It's funny as hell!
I have a ps4, do not have an x1, and yet I don't care if DF said an x1version is the better. Ps4 is a superior hardware, so, my point is: get the hell over it!
Anytime anyone says anything positive of the x1, you guys come crying foul! Some think ryse has the best graphics: Sony fans cry foul and bring up their OPINION as to why it's a fact that it's not! Lol. Let it be.
You win some, you lose some. I, for one, will still enjoy my machine, regardless of DF analisys, regardless if the ps4 is outselling the x1, I just play games, and all this .... Whatever the hell it is, is rediculous.

Very odd conclusion:

I just saw this in the video, what the hell is that?

Well, if you pause this right when it pops out, you'll notice it looks exactly like the ps4 version. Which means the x1 version is actually using enhanced shadows up close compared to the ps4, at least judging by this small clip. Look at it, it's there for anyone who wants to see it.

Looks to me like the xbox one version stalled for a while on loading the baked lightmap, a few seconds after the PS4 version stalled on loading the texture map, in the engine both resources are stored in the exact same way.

UE3 has always had these sorts of streaming issues, even on high end pcs without very specific hardware sets and driver versions.

With that in consideration its pretty obvious that both "next gen" console versions are shitty regardless, sub 30fps for this sort of game is a slap in the face of buyers.

It is a slap in the face. Publishers are slapping multi gen games on the next gen, and it sucks. They're actually doing the same thing they were doing to the wiiu, except they're not pulling content/features.
