Forums - Microsoft - Titanfall is everything that Killzone was not... Gameplay > Graphic...

I cannot wait until Guerilla Games releases the new KZ Maps to shut this guy up. It might just feature their famous jetpack guns and mechs once more. There was a game that did Mechs and jetpacks before Titanfall and it was Killzone.

Red Faction also featured jetpacks and mechs before Titanfall, and before Killzone 3.

Of course, per usual, it's not about content but more about implementation and design. Titanfall wins these categories.

You know what Titanfall does not have that Killzone does? Exclusivity. A gamer on the fence will get this for his 360 since the graphics are nearly the same.

The 360 version is an offline only card battle game. The graphics are not nearly the same.

Titanfall = COD with a mech as a killstreak. WOW!! innovative...Not!

A killstreak that requires no kills. Genius!

First must own game of the generation, sadly wasted on the XB1.

Sadly perfectly reviewed games on unpopular systems din't do much (SM3DW on Wii U), so let's see if the XB1 can change that image.

Not that I think it'll happen but I'd love to see the meltdowns and the gloating that would occur if Titanfall would eventually only get a low 80s or high 70s metascore, I think that would be hilarious. :D

Only meltdowns I can see happening are from people who want the game to fail. Most of us hyped up for Titanfall have already played it and couldn't care less about its metascore.

INdeed, it could get a high 80s metascore, that wouldnt change my opinion of this game.

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

"next-gen innovation in gameplay and refinement"
An online shooter with mechs and jetpacks ? Oh please...

There's really nothing new in TitanFall from what I've seen. Mechs, JetPacks and Parkour. It just so happens to be the first time a shooter is built around all 3. I'm sure it's fun and sure, it's something new as a whole package. However, we're not breaking new major ground here. "Next-Gen innovation" sounds silly considering we know the game can be done on 360/PS3.

So guys...what happens if nobody cares? What happens if after the initial big sales the game dies because it doesn't live up to the hype? It happens all the time. For every super hyped up game that comes out and lives up to it's hype there are at least a couple that fail and fall into obscurity. Some of them even sell well but mostly just disappoint the people who buy it.

Duke Nukem Forever
Crysis 2
Call of Juerez: the Cartel
Enter the Matrix
Dead island
Medal of Honor (2010)
Fable 3
Homefront
Red Steel
Crysis 3
Halo: ODST
Beyond: two souls
Thief

Video game history is littered with games that were hyped beyond belief to only be quickly forgotten (or remembered as some kind of joke) because they failed to deliver.

I'm not saying that TitanFall is doomed to fail or that it's overhyped, I'm just saying it might be a good idea to learn from out past mistakes and maybe wait until people have more than a couple of hours on a beta to go on before we declare it the second coming.

Uh, there was zero hype for the Cartel. I approve the rest of your post

Killzone wins in single player....

Yes, however, hes talking about a game thats obviously destined to come to both platforms. Its not worth it. KZ is going to get a big update for multiplayer. The multiplayer is already great. Playstation gamers are used to Microsofts little games, all they have to do is be patient and wait for their time with Titanfall in the second iteration.

Yeah, fair enough. Still though, that's a pretty long list of games that were in a pretty similar situation to TF that went down hard.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.
