Sony has many new IPs coming and there have been many this generation already, so not really sure what point this thread is attempting to make.

I'd much rather have Halo 5, Gears of War 4, Cod 10, Battlefield 5, Darksiders 3, and Crysis 4 than a generic new IP that is the same as the previous games I mentioned.

Same thing im wondering...i know theres been quite a few announced..but a lot of those titles are very similar to last gen games. I guess its not just new IP's im looking for but fresh gameplay and new ideas.

Nintendo makes a platformer calls it Mario. Makes a racer calls it MarioKart makes a Ghostbusters game calles It Luigi's Mansion = Mario IP. Being a completely different type of game is irrelevant here.

The thing is, the name drives sales. There's no risk in using your stellar character to promote the game, whereas that brand new shooter (which is indeed a new IP) has a big percentage of not making profit. Even being a shooter.

Trying something new means potentially bringing something to the market that is either desirable or not. Best for developers/publishers to stick with what they know will sell or has a good chance to sell well.
As a consumer I want a bunch of bold new Triple-A IP's, but that's not happening. If you want new ip's look to PC or mobile gaming for new and innovative indie games,

Otherwise TitanFall is on his way.
