How is "was £429 now £399" not a price cut? |
Do you not know what a sale is?
A price cut is universal. Not one country.

but isn't it going to be that price in the UK moving forward? thus making it a price cut??

Is this actually a joke?
A price cut is permanant, a sale is not. Doesn't have to be universal for it to be a price cut .. rofl.

Stop talking nonsense. It doesn't matter if it's 1 country or all of them, a price cut is a price cut.

The PS3 dropped $100 in the USA after 7 months ($599 to $499) in the UK after 7 months it got a £75 cut and at the same time a new version with a slightly smaller HDD was introduced for £126 less!! A Ps3 could be had for £126 less after just 8 months in the UK this is equivalent to the ONE being available for £300 by July this year.

Actually, the PS3 launched at $500. People just forget about the 20GB model since it was the first to be discontinued. Then they dropped the 60GB to $500 and made the 80GB for $600. Then they introduced the 40GB for $400 in November 07, one year after launch, which is the first meaningful "PS3 price cut".
UK didn't get all those options like the US got, they just had the 60GB. Then the 40GB was introduced while the 60GB was being phased out. But this was because the 60GB phase out/40GB introduction was across the board for all countries. Not to mention the PS3 didn't launch in the UK until 4 months after the US, which kinda skews the comparison since the XBone released worldwide at once (or rather, in most major markets).
But not to act like Sony can do no wrong, the UK gamers did get stiffed here....but that's because the PS3 launched so late there, and then Sony made across the board decisions. I don't think the US and Japan got screwed though, since the price cut was a year after launches in these territories. But with the XBone, it's not an across the board decision and there wasn't a staggered launch, so that on it's own makes the comparison between XBone UK and PS3 UK not really apples to apples. If the PS3 had a worldwide launch, the, what I'm deeming the "first meaningful PS3 price cut", would have been 12 months and not 7 in the UK.
To make it comparable, you have to take a market the XBone hasn't launched in yet, and then, for example, at E3, MS drops the price by $100, officially. Then the country that just launched XBone in March got a price cut only 3 months into it's release....but the NA and EU would technically have had 6 months on the market, so it's not really "stiffing" the early adopters there. With the PS3, they weren't specifically targeting one market, like MS is doing with XBone for the TF launch. They slashed the price altogether.
Considering the British pound/USD exchange rate, I'd be pretty outraged with the original price to begin with.
I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016
2 points t point out here.
(1) The bundle has sold zero units yet, so we still have to wait and see the results.
(2) The Titanfall bundled for free is only available in UK markets. PS4 was already winning US, so again, we still have to wait and see what becomes of this.
My opinion is M$ should have done this Titanfall Bundled in free for ALL MARKETS.

They are. It's $499 in states, same as a normal Xbox One. Same world over, confirmed for Europe and Australia.
Well this price drop is UK only (for now) so I don't see it having too much of an effect. Still, its an interesting move >.>
