I was hoping to get this game when(or if) it came to the PS4...but now not so much :(

Probably. But, I don't think they'll be willing to reverse this decision in say 3-5 months time, even if they should.

So we should blame the publisher, not MS. This is just the beginning of a lot of games this gen requiring internet access.

Wait, alright just to clarify guys. My cousin was really excited for this game, and his and my understanding IS: that this game has multiplayer, BUT also has a split-screen mode on XBOX where you can play offline with a buddy or alone.

My cousin unfortunately lacks internet, so I'm a little confused you cannot play this game whatsoever even the split-screen mode if you don't have online capabilities?

So it's an absolute 100% that you cannot play this game splitscreen or alone without online? I read the article,just need assurance.

I doubt this is Microsoft's decision, probably just more of EA's stupidity. It's as if they learned nothing from the SimCity disaster.
