I was the first to get a copy at my local GS, about an hour after opening.

They had no idea it released today, even though they had a video with audio advertising the date in front of them. : /

Had to open a box that looked like it had +20 copies.

They also had it listed for $60 on their display, wonder if they corrected that.

Anywho, got my copy and already on world 3. Getting nearly all KONG letters, puzzles and some secret exits got me stumped tho.

I wonder what the opening sales will be for US.

I went to the Target by me and they only had 2 left (from what I saw on the shelves, could have been more in the stockroom). I asked the guy and he said I was the 5th one today picking it up. He also was talking to me about Xbox One and said that in his opinion they are selling worse then the Wii U ever did. I wouldn't be shocked if that was true for Target because they actually give Nintendo and equal amount of space, and some advertising room.

My Walmart had 40 copies for launch, all gone. I bought the last one :D

By noon today, the nearest Wal-Mart was all sold out and the Toys R Us next door (there's also a Best Buy in that same plaza, to which I don't know DK's sales for) had sold half of its 20 unit stock.  What we will see happen is probably one of the best attach rates of existing Wii U owners to this game that we've seen yet.  Something nice would be 20% of the existing userbase, pick up the game...1.2 million in say by April 1st.  What we won't know just yet is how many gamers will buy a Wii U for this game, because it was that "tipping over the fence" title, to make the console worth purchasing, along with Super Mario 3D World, etc.

Hopefully it'll draw in a decent amount of new users.
