As I don't feel that Sony is giving the Vita the support the hardware deserves, I'm gonna have to go with Wii U. Although I also feel Nintendo haven't given it the support it deserves, they are at least supporting it.

I voted wrong.  I voted Vita, but I agree with this.  Sony doesn't seem to care if the Vita dies.  Nintendo is trying atleast.

WiiU is sadder cause the games are actually appealing that are gonna come out in 2014 as well as some games from 2013 but Vita is more deserved to flop cause not only are the memory cards are expensive and Sony isn't even trying anymore, but Sony's counter to the fail sales is to re-release the Vita with LCD instead of the superv OLED and make it more over priced in Europe... At least Nintendo is trying to make the wiiU a success with games, price cuts and bundles that people care about

Not true

Vita has about double the amount of games coming to it this year, more than Wii U and 3DS almost combined(according to Gamestop's Reservation listings).

Sony's reasoning of the Vita Slim is to put forth a cheaper made model which in turn means they can sell it for less......making it more approachable to consumers. Plus with over 100 titles coming to Vita in 2014 how is Sony not trying? Room for improvement, no arguing there, yet there is plenty of effort going in.

The Memory Cards are expensive, yes. They are not over priced. People seem to get it twisted but standard MSRP pricing of such things are about right in line with what Sony is charging(maybe a bit over). Shops are allowed to still discount them competitively but it is harder to do as they are proprietary(meaning less of a market for them to gain back investments).  Sony wouldn't of had to choose such a format if PSP wasn't riddled with so many pirates, but it was and this is the price for it. In the grander scheme of things, with how many free games come to the system, the Vita Mem Cards are more than worth their asking price. $70 for a 32GB is less than the price of 2 games that you can then put on. Not to mention they are only necessary to those who will be getting games digitally, anyone who is only in for the physical games would never have to delve deeper than an 8gb card.

And Console wise, Wii U and Vita are neck and neck. Game sales wise, Vita is lapping it. Regardless of some game's appearance of low sales, developing on Vita has proven very profitable for most developers. Sony has stated at least half of all game sales are coming digitally which has a higher profit margin. Indies are hugely successful on the handheld, so have most of the 3rd party endeavours. Shit, ACL and COD Declass assuredly made back a profit and they could be seen as half ass 3rd party titles.

Well, if you look at the games coming out, again, as I said before, its games that no one cares about... But just to be clear, I mean system seller wize... Sony is putting little effort when it comes to big budget first party games for the Vita and basically relying only on third party Japanese games (which btw, has a strong chance of not even coming to the west)... Quality over Quantity

I understand the reasoning of releasing a LCD version to make it cheaper if only Sony wasn't dumb enough to over price it in Europe... It costs 180 euros which is roughly $250 US which is a huge markup since they are using cheaper parts... Whats even worse is that the original Vita costs less than the new model in Europe...

(Obviously Amazon gives discounts for almost everything so the numbers are a bit different but you can google for the articles and the point is still there)

The Memory cards are expensive, you can get a 64 gb microsd card for $50 these days vs $70-$80 for 32gb vita one... If piracy was such a big issue, why didn't the 3ds go that route? Any 3ds that is above 4.5 firmwire (which is everyone of them that have been out for the past year) is unhackable even though it uses Sd cards... And yes, the memory cards are for the people that only want games digitally... which majority of the Vita games are, sure it has free games from psn but its a failing system that clearly isn't selling with games that are not appealing to everyone... The wiiU is also not selling but at least you have the freedom to choose what external hard drives you want and there are quality games coming for it that Nintendo put a lot of investments over them that are suppose to be system sellers... The games coming on the Vita are niche games with hardly any big budget games from Sony in 2014 and the Japanese games might not even come to the west...

Wii U got useless marketing, a survival-horror game with mixed reviews, a Zelda remake, a Pikmin game, Mario and little else.

Vita got expensive memory cards, software that's inferior to its home console counterparts from almost all angles, and little else.

They both have their gems but, all things considered, they currently don't deserve much more sales than they have.

To answer your question: Neither saddens me. It would sadden me, however, if the low sales caused dedicated developers for both platforms to rush their games to the store shelves.

wii U
the master pieces from mister takahashi deserve to be apreciated by the world.

WiiU. I've never cared for Sony's handhelds.

Wii U. Nintendo, at least, is trying. Sony don't care about that PS4 controller

Vita, because is the one I have at this moment and I think it deserves more success than it has right now (but I guess all the companies should have at least a failure console). I feel bad for wii u, but then I remember Nintendo's wii and I forget, Nintendo deserves what they got.

WiiU, because Nintendo at least tries to revive it.

Vita, because I actually like that system.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Wii-U to be honest. I don't think Sony was ever really meant to be in the portable business. I think it just leeched resources and developers that could've been much more useful being used on the PS3 during it's darker years. I'm kind of glad the Vita isn't doing so hot because it's inspiring Sony to stick with what they're best at: Home consoles. You really can't compete with constantly evolving smart phones these days. Sony should just put any Vita resources they have left into Japan and maybe a little bit of Europe. Overall, nobody really cares for it, and they need to put a lot of fuel into the PS4 to keep it going strong.

As for the Wii-U, when I first saw it unveiled back in E3 2012 with Nintendo boasting all the third party support and exclusives like Killer Mutants from Outer Space, all I could thing was "Hell yeah! Nintendo's abandoning the casual Wii mentality and going back to their roots!", but then with the failure, they've seemingly tried going back to that casual mindset and are still doing terribly. I wanted to see Wii-U do good, and it's why even I bought one.
