Soooo Dark Souls 2 is a month away I think, So I thought it would be cool to discuss about two big RPGs that were released in 2011.At the same time.

It's been more than two years so a lot of people must have played both of these games, but even if you haven't, say why did you like the one you played.

 

Edit: I know they are completely different,but still you might prefer the one over the other. I don't need you to directly compare the games.Just wich one is you fav of the two.

Personally, Dark Souls is the one that I like more.
In fact...Dark Souls is my 3rd fav game of this gen.At first I didn't buy it cause honestly,I was afraid of it's infamous difficulty but, one day I found it for 20 euros 4 months after its release and that was it.Defenately the most addicting game I've ever played. 5-6 chracters over 500 hrs and I can still play it again.

As for Skyrim, I had a problem with its gameplay.On the 6th difficulty level it is still easy and because of how easy it is, I have little motivation to finish the quests since the best thing I'm gonna get.....is gold.
Still the world is full of things to discover (but you get nothing as a reward) and it feels as if anything can happen in this game.That was enouph to keep me for more than 110 hours and I still play from time to time.It is a good game,I can't deny that but not my type of thing.I prefer smaller maps with more substance to them, like Dark Souls or Dragon's Dogma.
If TES VI fixes the issues I had w/ the gameplay then I could enjoy the series much more.

Anyway.What are your experiences with these games?

Dark Souls. Skyrim was a very mediocre game. Oblivion and Morrowind are much better.



I was walking down along the street and I heard this voice saying, "Good evening, Mr. Dowd." Well, I turned around and here was this big six-foot rabbit leaning up against a lamp-post. Well, I thought nothing of that because when you've lived in a town as long as I've lived in this one, you get used to the fact that everybody knows your name.

Skyrim is fun to mess around with. It almost has a sandbox-like appeal.

Dark Souls is waaaaaay better though. Among the best games of its generation in my opinion. Whereas Skyrim is a complete mess.

Dark Souls is one of my most played games in last gen. Over 1000 hours across 5-6 characters.

DkS II willl probably be the last game I buy for PS3, it should keep me occupied til I get a PS4

IMO Dark Souls is a very boring (in the sense of empty) and thus mediocre game and Skyrim one of my all time favourites, so the choice is easy.
