Forums - Gaming - Microsoft AU rep denies NPD Australian numbers, says Xbone sold more than PS4!

Xbox denies losing the game, after new figures show PS4 was most sold console in OZ.

According to NPD Group figures, PlayStation 4 was the best selling console in Australia last year, ahead of arch rival Xbox One.

The Australian console market grew 27% in 2013, on the back of the launch of Xbox One and PS4 in November.

But Microsoft insists gamers spent more on the Xbox One platform, including higher unit sales of Xbox One, games and accessories, than its rival, said Jeremy Hinton, Business Group Lead Interactive Entertainment, Microsoft Australia.

The XBox is $50 more expensive than PS4, which may explain why gamers spent more.

He also pointed to "limited" supply of the console in OZ, since launch.

"Xbox One saw higher unit sales of consoles, games and accessories than any other next generation console in Australia last year and topped all prior console launches in the country's history."

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Even if it was true, does he expect anyone to believe him or that this will help anything?

Not even Major Nelson is this bad at spin.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Around the Network

for a small (in population) country like Australia it's fully possible that a console manufacturer has better data than NPD. At least for their own products.

For fuck's sake people. Read some of the comments for once. I bolded mine to make it easier.

Reading is too hard.

It's not denial, just very bad, blatant spin

So this probably confirms that Dark_Feanor is a Microsoft Australia employee.
