No I'm not. You're suggesting 1 game is going to push more WiiU's than what it sold in the entire 2013. It's unrealistic.

GC could have sold more than 21M, same for Wii U, it will surely do much less in the same time but could do much more if they keep it alive longer than GC
Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:
PS4: 17m XB1: 10m WiiU: 10m Vita: 10m
I used to think it will do 25-30m but now I have my doubts. It might even fall under 20m. Depressing numbers.
Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Smash wasn't the only game. Luigi, AC, proper Mario, zelda and Metroid games. All of them in the first year. Wii u just had what? Pikmin and Mario 3d world. I think nobody expected wii u to beat GC with that. |
So what you're implying is that Nintendo is to blame for the lack of a proper software strategy around the Wii U launch. I can't seem to construe this post as anything but covert criticism of Nintendo.
Nintendo and Nintendo alone is to blame for the poor sales of the Wii U, I think you need to openly acknowledge that rather than dance around the issue like so many others.

Really? How? It was cut to $99 pretty quickly. That's pretty much the biggest thing they could do ....
Since when did Nintendo (this last decade or so) support systems for more than 5 years? And WiiU isn't doing well as it is ... if it's doing 49k this January, what is it going to be doing in 2 januarys from now???
It's unrelistic to expect WiiU to be selling in 2017.
If Nintendo doesn't drop the price of the WII U to $200 by the time MK8 launches then I can not see them doing better than 35% YOY from last year.

They're still losing money on WiiU on the current price tag, let alone $200!
@ Tbone - Agree to disagree :)

not really, halo+ssb fans buy 1 console solely for that one game. Many people haven't bought wiiu yet cuz of ssb not being released. |
You have to keep account of momentum though and the WII U is losing it fast to the point of where system sellers won't redeem the console.

Obviously it is Nintendo's fault. I'm just saying is not fair to compare it with GC when that console had a strong launch if we talk of software. I don't need to recognize nothing, since I'm not a Nitendo fan, just trying to be objective.
