The best thing that could come from this is that Nintendo stops making hardware and starts making great software for other better platform makers. In other words, I hope it sell quite a lot less than the gamecube.

Or they learn from their mistakes and make their next console worth owning for people other than the core Nintendo fans.

That does not benifet as many consumers as would having their software on multiple hardware Nintendo did not create. In other words,, your suggestioin is anti-consumer because your way benifits a lot less people.

At this point I think Nintendo may have to drop the gamepad. They have done very little with it and most people are put off by it. Personally I have no problem with the controller it but, Nintendo will need to lower the price of the system to make it more enticing if Mario Kart and Smash do nothing.
