It hasn´t even been 24 hours since the latest NPD info, and already I´m seeing a lot of doom-mongering among the (console) gaming enthusiast crowd.

Yeah, the numbers aren´t pretty, aside from the PS4, but really, there are different directions one can go with that information...is it because Nintendo and MS haven´t made something the public wants?...is it because of macro economic trends?...can smartphones and tablets threaten home consoles?...a lot of people just waiting for something worth it to jump on the 8th gen?..all of that?

I can understand smartphones and tablets threatening dedicated gaming handhelds (and they really seem to be), but home consoles?...different experiences...though, is it a case of a lot of things competing for the consumer´s limited time, even if those things aren´t apparently in the same market, where in theory there should be no overlap?

Whatever the case, the doom-mongering crowd has just been fed a lot of ammo.

We should worry about gaming PCs. The sales were so low, NPD didn't even bother to mention them.

Yeah, I'm getting a bit tired of coming here. Every thread seems to be: How is Sony going to recover from those massive losses? or Can the XBO be saved? or Wii U sells even worse than it did before! or Handheld industry is collapsing because of Smartphones.

These are all arguments that can be made but they are boring and tiring...I just want to talk about games ;~; please, think of the games!
