The losing items thing isn't 100% yet, as we don't see Yoshi fully recover from that hit since the scene cuts away, and you can still drag items behind you. The characters holding items now seems to just be a visual cosmetic, but it may mean they can be stolen when you ram em with a Mushroom or Starman.

I use it for short-cuts or blue shells.

I stand by my original point. This will be a more strategic MK, making it 100000x better.

Yeah that's definitely not Cheep Cheep Lagoon (so still a chance for Daisy Hills!). Could be Dolphin Shoals, but can't say for sure. I still wanna say that's Tick Tock Clock, but man we barely saw any of it. If it is Tick Tock Clock though, then man they've added so much detail to it!

By no means are the characters shown comprehensive, especially if the lineup is indeed bigger than Mario Kart Wii (hell, i don't think i ever unlocked Funky Kong in all the time i played...)
