Having long periods between save points.  Nothing annoys me more than when I feel like getting off, but I can't cause I gotta get to the next save point first.

All shooters ever: Unrealistic clip management.

It bothers me way more than it should.

That's an interesting point.  You mean like how you can reload and unused bullets are returned instantly to the "pool"?  Every shooter I play, I always make sure that reloading with half a clip doesn't waste bullets--I don't know why I still bother, as it never happens.  It's made me into an obsessive reloader who pops in a new clip after firing once or twice.

Doing stupid stuff just so that the game can be long. Really annoyed me in bioshock infinite.

Also when the person you're playing as does stuff you wouldn't do. Again annoyed me in bioshock infinite. I'm not Booker, but the game needs to make me at least understand him.

Another thing is when cut-scenes are nothing like gameplay. In gameplay you're a badass killing everything, but all of a sudden in a cut-scene just one enemy is too much for you to handle.

Also when the game just starts making stuff up to appear fancy and deep. Again, I'm looking at you infinite.

Games that have lots of exploration, but doors/check points that once you go through you cant go back. Some will even auto-save as you do making it impossible to even load a save to go back. So if you have a bunch of rooms to explore and you pick the right one first, you miss everything. My favorite game of all time had some of this (TLOU)

Shooters lung capacity. In BF4 you can run for quite a ways, in COD is a little bit shorter, but in all, if you decide to be a sniper, and you have to hold your breath to make a shot. You magically get the lungs of a 2yo and cant hold your breath longer than 4 seconds. and once you do, you then have to gasp for air for the next 10-20 seconds. Its like your soldier is chain smoking cases of Cubans between every match.

Online games that do not give you an "abort" option while joining a game. this is so small and so simple.. i really dont get it.

Games where if you die, you get to restart for the last check point, but they dont give you the option to hit start - restart from last checkpoint. If you want to, you have to kill yourself or get killed some how, then watch a video of you dieing before you can go back.

I am Torgo, I take care of the place while the master is away.

"Hes the clown that makes the dark side fun.. Torgo!"

Ha.. i won my bet, but i wasnt around to gloat because im on a better forum!  See ya guys on Viz

Long loading times.  There are so many damn games that are guilty of this that I simply lost count. Sometimes the loading times are so long that when I go to the bathroom to take a piss then  come back to  the game is still loading! That's simply ridiculous.

Platforming in FPS games. I hate that so much. You can't see well enough to platform when you can't see your own damn feet, you bastards! Understand that!

I'm so glad they got this right in Metroid Prime and Portal even though they are technically not shooters.

Stun lock. Happens in fighting, beat em ups and even some RPGs. It is minor, but man it is frustrating to be stuck in a loop helpless to do anything.

Yeah, exactly.

I personally wouldn't mind if your clips were displayed on the side of the screen and "rotated" from auto-reload, with manual reloading allowing you to choose which clip to use. (This process would be particularly smooth using the GamePad's/Vita's second screen.) Though this would also require a "fuse clips" feature of some sort that would take a short amount of time to perform whenever no enemies are nearby.

Though of course I'd only like to see this in relatively slow-paced games like Fallout and Metro. Regarding competitive multiplayer in its current form, this would serve only as a distraction.

As someone who vastly prefers slow- or self-paced shooters, I agree.  I've thought about it many times before and I think it would increase immersion.  Like if it gave you a set number of rotating clips that you had to manage and eventually reload.  It would be a good option for the more realistic difficulties of Fallout.
