Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Because PlayStation is quite simply the biggest brand in the industry. PS broke records. PS2 broke records. PS4 is breaking records.

Really, look at it from a worldwide point of view. PS home consoles have the reputation for having the biggest and best games on the market. Even the PS3 that had the countless setbacks from Day 1 is going to be pushing 95-100 Million units.

The consumer knows where to find the best experiences. A relatively cheap PlayStation console thats had nothing but fantastic publicity in comparison to the competition, with guaranteed top quality support, is going to outsell competing products. End of.

"PlayStation" is videogames.

A simple, elegant system designed with a singular purpose - Games.

But I'm sure you prefer an expensive, obtrusive machine, designed for the lowest common denominator.

To each their own.

greatness waits.................

seriously

way over the top hype.

In other words' A console I don't like and never played is doing better then my console , So it;'s over hyped" it is an amazing system, at a great price with many games coming it's not rocket science. it's justified, they did everything right except not having DLNA at launch.

Everyone is not wrong, and you right. The hype is there for a reason, they made a product that many want badly, thats the point no?

Haha, did you expect him to say anything different.

The PS4 is a very well built (and thought-out) peice of kit. I want to get a XBO in the future to play DR3.. but from a tech point of view the XBO is really quite a poor peice of kit. Controller, needs batteries, kinect is big, console, the one box but you need to connect multiple boxes. The Hard disk, only 500GB and you cannot upgrade it... 3rd party headphones, need a £25 connector. So if you take that into account, and then that it costs more and has Kinect which has yet to be given a reason to exist... you can see why many are prefering PS4 first. If something big/good comes out, then its possible more people will double dip.

The no games statement that does the rounds is pretty silly. Of course there are no games if you dont like those games, but to suggest out of the 30 odd games there are that there are no games cause a single person doesn't like them, well duh.

Xbox was always like that, their hard drives were over priced, peripheral support was terrible, Sony's hardware is a lot better designed no doubt. That power brick and size of X1 is embarassign lol.

Because Sony support more their (home) console than Nintendo or Microsoft.
Because the quality and the price are much better on PS4.
Because it has a much better futur than One or Wii U. ( multiplat+much more exclusive games)

+ it's indeed the cool product to get(like DS,3DS(after 1 year), Wii, PS2) and this is perfectly justified.

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

Because of hype.

If the hype is unjustified as the usual suspects state in this thread, maybe it's the least terrible choice of the three?

Bad publicity and really really really stupid PR can chase people to the other side you know.

My guess is that Sony hasn't fucked up this time, did almost everything right when it comes to PR and built a decent next gen console where public apparently was waiting for.

It's actually a pretty fair question; there really aren't any big games, the price is high and it doesn't really do anything magical that the PS3 didn't. I will never understand early adopters.

It's mostly because a lot of people are tired of their ancient PS3/360 and want to upgrade to a new console ... the PS4 has been designated the "golden child" because it's $100 cheaper with equal/better specs to the X1.

Though I agree based on actual merit, it's a bit overrated. The X1 has the better library.
