Graphene is a new material, that's made of carbon, it's extremely thin, a million times thinner then paper and stronger then diamond, it can be used for many things electronic and it's safe for the environment (it's just carbon, if you have this stuff made of batteries you can throw the batteries right in the garden). For people that don't understand and want to know more here's a quick understanding of this amazing life changing product.

So I'd like to talk about this, what are your guys thought on this, it's going the change the future. Were talking super fast internet, make solar power actually useful for the average consumer, faster transistors, transparent screens, much more powerful batteries with almost instant recharge, can be used for planes, and cars (electric cars can go several times farther then cars today), ultra filters, biological engineering, even more power gaming consoles. I mean the list goes on in the next 10 - 20 years this is going to be a huge part of are lives.

Also there's now news that it conducts electricity 10 times better then expected, just keeps getting better.

Graphene has been now about for a while now. You're a bit late to the party.

On topic, graphene has the potential to change our lives, but it needs a better production process. We can't afford the required cello-tape to mass produce it.

The problem with graphene in digital electronics is that it doesn't provide a big enough band gap to propogate a large enough difference in voltages to represent a discrete value.

As far as I'm aware no company is openly working on this besides universities and research labs. And I wouldn't get your hopes up for prices to suddenly drop as it's been producable since 2004. 

Also, that nano coating material that repells water- definaly going to buy as much as that as I can when it's finally bought to market.

Wasn't it the material of the future like 10 years back? Media often hypes randomly some material, technique or other stuff as the new future, but usually it all ends in reality at issues in mass production or price. Or both.

The only problem I have heard about graphene so far (besides the current high production price, but as with all new technologies that will fall) is that it could be harmful to health in a production environment if not handled properly... thousands of microscopic flakes of it are probably not lung friendly.

The technology is known as superhydrophobic, and there are a few products available or in the early stages of releasing that involve spraying onto other non hydrophobic materials (I believe the one you are referring to is called "NeverWet") The tech in general certainly has a number of useful applications, particularly for keeping surfaces clean.
There are also some superhydrophilic materials being developed... essentially 'supersponges'.

I can't remember who made it, but it's awsome and actually will come to the market.

The problem with Graphene isn't that it's not a good material, in many ways it's amazing. The problem is that the only known method of reliably getting it is to put some gaphine on some tape and keep folding it until you get a layer of carbon one atom thick. If mass production was possible then it would be amazing, but until then its basically useless. 

Maybe in 20 years.

i really doubt that graphene would replace sylicon chips enterely.
Is very difficult to produce in indsutrial scale like sylicon based chips.

But in other areas, idk.

The posibilities of graphene could far outweigh that of a hydrophobic spray, but as others have said it's a long way from production. NeverWet etc are coming now/soon (though I would advise against coating your frying pan/plates in it for now)
