They started out with a console that managed to sell about 25 Million units and increased that by 325% for their next one. That's quite the achievement there. Popularity matters, and that's why PS3's sales to this day seem low when you look at essentially every other PlayStation platform (especially considering that they managed to sell 100 million units of their first console).

No it didnt hurt it actually, it actually led to more sales and I bet the units MS replaced were counted in their 'sales' data

it will be interesting to see the numbers in Q4.

Last year(jan-march) PS3: 3.4M X360: 1.3M

24m to 82m consoles... over 200 1m selling games... unprecedented.


That's the wrong word you're looking for. PS3 has 200 1m selling games and PS2 has 325. If you're talking about the sales increase that is also a lie. EX: gamecube to Wii and PS1 to PS2 sales.

When I remember all the articles ethomaz and pezus posted

PS3 should outsell Xbox 360 worldwide by a huuuuge margin.
PS4 basically kicks Xbox Ones ass right now.

Truth: The difference is about 1-2 weeks of sales for both consoles combined.

Just admit it guys, you expected WAY higher sales for the PS3 and the PS4.



Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Anyway, if it comes to the point where you have to justify the fact that PS3 will overtake the 360 (if it hasnt already) with something like RROD, that says it all.

The gap end december between XB1 and PS4 is 1,2M. It's a lot for only 5 weeks of sales...

Not really, I still think ps3 will do 100m, and PS4 sales are bottlenecked by production capacity.

im not justifying myself or the PS3, im questioning why considering those factors, MS didnt do better.

you should be glad that I mentioned those, because the PS3 matching the 360 despite that gives XB1 some hope against the PS4.
