The Wii U is at nearly 1.2 million in Japan right now and will be over that by the time the PS4 launches, so as funny (or sad?) as that would be, it's definitely going to take awhile before it can surpass.

I know a lot of people are actually thinking it could go as high as selling out a 500k shipment first week, but personally I see more 280k-ish.

PS4 is really doing amazing in the United States. It will be interesting to see whether the United States or Europe has higher ps4 sales when all is said and done considering the ps4 seems a lot more competitive with the xb1 in the United States.

500k week 1. Maybe more. Remember the Japanese citizens have been pre-ordering since October or earlier.

50k a week for 7 weeks = 350k more.

40k a week for 3 months avg'd up = 500k

5-6 months. I'm pulling these numbers out of the sky though.

Wii U is at 1,6M in Japan

It will be longer for PS4 to overtake Wii U, maybe by mars 2015 I guess
By the end of 2014, it will be hard
