Forums - Sony - “PlayStation Now is a joke,” says Pachter

If patcher says its a joke then Sony are on to a winner, guy is right less often than a random gaffer.

Wish I got paid for talking out of my ass.

"There is no publisher that is going to license content that’s less than two-years old because they would be concerned that they can’t sell as many copies if they make it available for subscription or rental."

well... pachter... people could also buy the games digitally and then stream then... how about that...

must-have-list for platforms i don't own yet:

WiiU: Donkey Kong

XBone: Dead Rising 3, Ryse

“PlayStation Now is a joke. There is no publisher that is going to license content that’s less than two-years old"...

That's not what Plastation Now is supposed to do anyway, Sony never said it was for new games, otherwise the system would support PS4 content as well.

Patch is dissinformed here since PS Now will not stream PS4 games (at least until the gen ends) but the giant PS1/2/3 and PSP library which would be "old" anyway when the service launches.

I not build a emulator and port these games?

Why spend so much money in infrastruct and maintenance to surport old ass games?

I basic smartphone right now can run PS1/PS2 games and a top end can run PS3 graphics close enougth. Imagine that in 2 or 3 years then.

I think you don't undestand one point... PS Now is not for PS4 (PS4 will receive a update to play all PS1/PS2 games on PSN native soon)... PS Now is for you smartphone, PC, HDTVs, Pads, etc.

All devices will run PS Now.

Even 360/Xbone machines.

Well, they convinced publisher to release games lessthan 1 year old for free on PS+ with their contract deals, so I believe it won't be a issue to convince them to rent their games and get a fee for every rental.

I hope they add trophy support to classic games.

They can run ps1 games, at varying speeds depending on model, the cannot run PS2 games, and won't for a long ass time, if you mean "ps2 level graphics" then "just about", but ps3? You're out of your tree with that one.
