If you're not a fan of Nintendo games, you shouldn't buy a 3DS.

You should get a Vita.

I'm just kidding, not even Sony would recommend the Vita.

Which is understandable, considering the PSP's age and how many games it's racked up over time.

However, there have been many 3DS games that are of utmost quality. The game you listed (Link Between Worlds) was really well received and is said to be one of the 3DS' best games. Pokemon X/Y also pushed the Pokemon franchise even further down the road, same with SM3DL doing that to Mario platformers on HH's.

You get great

for a great price.  I don't know what you're into, but the 3DS library is so vast that you have to be able to find something that peaks your interest.  Furthermore, even the features I thought were useless, I ended up liking.  Like streetpass, for example.  I at first thought it was pointless, but now I love it when I streetpass someone!

DS games are the best point that has been made so far.

I agree that smartphone games are garbage but honestly the only advantage the 3DS has over them is buttons and now the iPhone officially supports controllers. It is only a matter of time before they throughly pass the 3DS in quality.

I have a Vita and use it most days. Its lack of AAA releases is disappointing but its Indies and Remote Play is awesome. It has not paid for itself yet but I feel it will over the years

The 3DS has games that are "pick up and play" so you can naturally close the screen at any time and pick up right where you left off. They aren't iphone games, but they're not all full console games, either. For example, Animal Crossing. Have you played Animal Crossing before? It might look kiddie or stupid, but NO. It's amazing. If you like fun, addictive games MADE for a portable and pick up and play atmosphere then the 3DS is for you. If you're looking for more of a console experience that you're gonna play in your house for long periods of time, and you never want something you can just grab every once in a while, open a game, and play for a few minutes to hours, then you don't need a 3DS. There are also some games on the 3DS that are made for long periods of play time, but they're probably not going to be your main focus. Unless they are. Also, don't confuse the 3DS and pick up and play games for CASUAL. Kid Icarus Uprising on the hardest difficulty is HARD. Super Mario 3D Land (the 2nd half) is HARD. (although I don't like that game) There is also a ton of variety and genre of game on the 3DS. So, check it out!

Maybe I'm late, but I'll just say if the games available in the 3DS don't interest you, don't get the console at all...
