Bankrupt? Nintendo is still making a profit and has Cash Reserves of 61 Billion.

By the time Nintendo goes bankrupt the entire playing field is likely to look way different.

Hell, of the big 3, Nintendo isn't even the most likely to go bankrupt.

What?

I think he's exaggerating to make a point. Despite the fortunes of the PS4 and Wii U. Sony is still the most likely to go bankrupt of the Big 3. I chuckle at threads like this. Nintendo's isn't going bankrupt.

Nah I was talking Yen, and actually I totally undershot the number, mustaking what they increased it by as their total.

Basically, nintendo has played it SUPER conservative, and has crazy amounts of cash.

Ah I didn't realize you were using Yen. I stand corrected.

Oh, I was wrong anyway, so I wouldn't expect you to.

They're cash reserves are ridicilious for a company of their surprise, it's amazing that they haven't been more pressed for stock buybacks or aquistions.

I mean, they are predicting a 240 US Million loss.  If that loss stayed consitant it would take the 28 years just to get through their Cash surplus.

Nintendo is basically like some rich guy who lived through the great depression who just throws all his money in the bank rather then invest it, lives in  cheap apartment and shops at Walmart.

I mean, a good comprison is Microsoft.  They're practically known for having tons of Cash on hand.

They've got ~68B on hand for a revenue of 72B  A ratio that's aready crazy.

http://www.forbes.com/companies/microsoft/

Or Apple who's cash reserve are at ~137 on 164B revenue.

http://www.forbes.com/companies/apple/

Nintendo?

11B on a revenue of 7B?  With no real debt to mention?

http://www.forbes.com/companies/nintendo/

Compare that to more traditional companies like say, Samsung who's sitting at 35B on a revenue of 185B.

http://www.forbes.com/companies/samsung-electronics/

Nintendo is just criminally conservative with it's money.  To show how rare it is.  Apple's cash is about 10% of the cash on hand total, the largest holder of cash on hand... and it's 17th in terms of revenue when it comes to companies.

I think that were Nintendo to get into such financial dire straights for this topic to be relevant (which it isn't) the most likely situation would be for Nintendo to be bought as a whole by Disney/Apple, with them retaining all the IP.

In fact, were Nintendo ever even approaching bankruptcy, the sensible approach would be to sell off their unused IP before the business went under. Sony and Microsoft would kill to have even half the bank of IP that Nintendo does.

But anyway, daft topic is daft.

Better question: what will happen in the 4 universes where Sony goes bankrupt in the next 2 years?

My bet is that Apple will buy out all of Sony Electronics (including SCE) as it gives them an 'in' into both TVs and consoles. Whilst the rest of the company goes to other parties.

Nintendo/Microsoft may pick up a dev/IP or two. But I reckon Apple would take it as a chunk.

Why do people respond back with a counter article/response to the topic's subject. This is a "What If" thread (not "It will Happen") and even if the OP wants the subject to happen, just ignore him if it bothers you that much instead of posting articles going off topic ~__~.

Obviously you are butt-hurt about Sony doing so poorly and failing miserably as a company. I feel your pain. I am not going off-topic. It is a poorly written attempt at trolling by the OP, this is blatantly obvious to anyone with even a fraction of a brain cell. Simple as that. If you  do not like it, then do not come into the Nintendo Discussions. You only came here to bash Nintendo. Funny not one of my 60 posts are in anything but the Nintendo Discussions rebutting to trolls such as yourself.

Wouldn't mind seeing a counter thread, "What would happen to Sony ips if they go bankrupt?"
