Forums - Nintendo - Miyamoto: Super Smash Bros. 4 Wii U will arrive at the end of 2014

2014 kinda seems like it's really not going to be that much better on the software side of things for the Wii U

X

Mario Kart

Hyrule Warriors

Bayonetta 2

Donkey Kong TF

Smash Bros U

are the big firstparty titles we know of....decent tbh if you own other consoles too.

I kinda meant how spread out the releases are. Like between MK 8 and SSB in presumably nov/dec, how much momentum can Wii U realistically obtain

I could see an October release, simply for the fact of getting the toy line selling for Smash Bros. I'm pretty convinced SSB is going to be their big NFC game and they probably will make a fortune off the toys. $3 a pop for a toy line that could eventually be like 100-200 characters large ... uh huh.

Didn't they say that they are going to show off that game at E3 2014 though? Seeing as SSB is already announched I'm not sure if it's going to be that one, although the idea isn't terrible.

I don't think Iwata ever specified it as being a new game, just that they were going to showcase multiple uses of NFC at E3, including being able to make payments on it and what I suspect is going to be a Super Smash Bros. NFC toy line.

It's just too much of a given. I hate NFC toy gimmicks, but damnit if I don't buy every single one of these bastards. Take my money Nintendo.

It seemed like the statement was talking about an unannounched game, but as you said, could be anything really. It would fit well with the game, and could explain a 3DS version. But it has the chance if pissing off a very valuable fanbase for Nintnedo right now.

I wouldn't mind to much, but I rather want to see a new IP for this.

Hmm. So we are getting Smash Bros 4, X and Bayonetta  2 during the fall and winter. Not too shabby, Nintendo.   Let's hope that they don't  lose their damn minds and delay the games. That would cause a shitstorm.

i guess that means Zelda will be a 2015 tittle.

I don't see how anyone expected Zelda U to be a 2014 release after the announcement of Hyrule Warriors.

This was kinda expected. It just worries me that we haven't heard of any new games for the first half of the year - there's Donkey Kong and Mario Kart and that's it. e3 is in June so they can't announce any early 2014 games there and considering how desperate Nintendo is right now I doubt they would've kept quiet about software that would be ready before June..

So yeah, 2014 will be an even bigger drought than 2013. I just can't see this console survive.

New Samsh Bros should be released a few weeks before blackk friday imo, and I hope Nintendo isn't cheap with Marketing. The tv ads should resemble the Mega Man trailer and hot happy families playing on a couch.

So, this year we get 5 titles. Donkey Kong, Mario Kart, X, Bayonetta 2, Smash Bros U. It looks like we will get 5 games per year, kinda like N64.

Shit... Was hoping this for a late summer title.. Lamee

I always figured it was a holiday title. No surprise there.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!
