Tbh and I know a lot of people are probably thinking the same but to be having gaps this big between releases at this stage in a consoles life is not on. This is why the Vita suffers so much aswell from the exact same reason, game releases are too far between.

Bright side is at least we all know when the game is coming now though.

We don't know that there's nothing to fill that gap. After all, it was only Mario Kart that got a date mentioned specifically at the meeting. Presumably as it's such an important title.

Getting it out in time for the easter holidays would been ideal, i was thinking april but a few weeks later isn't going to make or break the Wii U.

Donkey Kong doesn't interest me so between now and may, the wii U essentially has nothing. This is why it helps to have 3rd party support lol.

Instead of complaining about the release date I am grateful that we finally have a concrete date. I can't wait to play the game!
