Kids and Noobs(casuals) are basicaly the Nintendo's target demographic.Every Nintendo commercial focused on kids and noob moms/dads. Most of the first party games released/announced for Wii U are "Cartoonish platformers" and this is not enough?
Nintendo need to understand that the casual market is bigger but it's not as loyal or passionate as the core market.
- They will not buy a new console just because it's new(like some core gamers did with PS4/Xone).
- They will not buy the Wii U just because they bought Wii.(like some core did with PS3/360 -> PS4/Xone)
- They have Smartphones/Tablets now,a console is not atractive enough anymore.
I know that they think they are not competing with sony/MS because they don't "share the same market".But it's clear that Wii U will follow the N64/Gamecube path and not the Wii one.It will be a great first party machine with lack of third party support,a "kid's toy" image, and the sales will be short.
They need to make something to compete with Sony/MS.Something that appeal for everybody not just kids and noobs but the core one too.Release a Mature/Dark Zelda,F-zero,Metroid and new Mature/Hardcore/Not for kids IPs.
