Samsung, they are as capable of throwing cash around as microsoft, if not more even.

Another question id like to add is where would you want their first party studios to go? I higly doubt that they would be sold with the PS brand

If Playstation goes under I don't expect a new competitor. It cost too much money to make a competing platform with little hope for profit nowadays.

I don't know if its realistic, but maybe Sony and Nintendo should work together on a home console. Together they can sell a bunch of hardware and focus on software. Its financially best for both of them and there would still be competition with Xbox, PC, mobile devices, etc.

I would honestly say either the brand becomes independent or Samsung. I don't know why, but Samsung is the closest to being like Sony in terms of quality, so I think they would take good care of the brand.

just for the theory: is there any european company that could do it, so that we have one dev in the us, one in europe and one in japan?

Lenovo or Tencent would be the most possible, from the Chinese market. They are huge, Tencent is almost as big/wealthy as Google, and they push online gaming on PC a lot. Lenovo is also a very big company that could probably afford it as well, and they have been making PC and laptops forever now.

Also Taiwanese companies like Asus or Acer would be interesting.

Other than that I would root for Nintendo, or Samsung as the OP mentioned, to keep the PlayStation brand Japanese/Asian.

Would you please explain to me how that comment is not super xenophobic/racist?  You might mean something else, but it does sound that way.  Not calling you that, just not sure what you meant.

I know New Yorkers noticed when Japan bought the Empire State Building in the 80's.  But they proably wouldn't have liked it if someone from Philidelpia bought it either, and they didn't do anything to stop it.



 

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

The only one i can think of is Nokia and they got bought by Microsoft.    Im sure there is some, just none comes to mind

Imagine a Ratchet & Clank session in Tommorowland from Disney's Magic Kingdom *_____* I think Disney would be able to do better advertising for SONY's teen/kids focused games like Ratchet, LittleBigPlanet, Sly, etc

They are redoing 'Tomorrowland' perhaps it will be 'PlayStation land?'  Plus, they could add all sorts of things at California Adventure.

They could add 'sock boy' to 'It's a Small World.'

Drake could have a ride next to 'Indiana Jones.'

Master Chief could join you on Space Mountain! (Sorry, got carried away.)

But the problem with that is it seems that Nintendo would be a better marriage than Sony for Disney.
