^That's weird, most Xbox One games so far have had darker darks than the PS4 versions. I'm sure you could mess around with the brightness and contrast settings and make the darks darker on the Xbox One version though.

Only the Xbone's games upscalled that use the native upscaller have that crushed blacks.

"Bad for both"
"That's pretty crappy for both"

Let me get this straight. Xone runs at 30fps and ps4 runs at 51fps on average. ps4 is getting hammered that has 20fps advantage?

Xbone is capped so we don't know how high it would've reached and how the average then would be.

10 pages about a few frames lol

There are graphical differences too. Note how the fin of the plane on the X1 version is missing rivets entirely and the texture overall there is smoother. There are other noticeable differences but that's the most obvious.

PS4 locked at 30 fps would have been better. 100% consistent framerate FTW. Too much variation off putting.

The game was done by two different studio's. There's going to be differences. Look at Lara's shirt two different colors. They are not going to be exactly the same. Nothing to do with the hardware.

That doesn't change the fact that the PS4 version looks far better.

I believe they should of locked both versions. Its interesting to see the ps4 version quite frequently drop to 40 42, while xbox one stays at 30. That section with pipe ps4 drops to within 4fps of the xbox one version. It would of been interesting techwise to see xbox one uncapped. Taking how frequently the one version didnt budge and ps4 coming within 8 - 12 fps, its actually closer in power than i expected. So uncapped id expect xbo one to average around 40. Iam happy the version im getting is locked and steady. Ps4 does fluctuate to much for me. At one point the ps4 version didnt go above 52 for 45 seconds. Going as low as 34 while xbox one didnt move from 30.

This guy is un fucking believable

I dont see why.

I dont claim the Xbox 1 version batter. And it is a shame we wont know the fames on an uncapped Xbox vesion. When the PS4 is fluctuating into the 30's the Xbox version didnt drop from 30. So It would have been nice to see where Xbox 1 would get to when PS4  was up arounf 50-60. Maybe 40 - 50? We unfotuantely wont know. But my guess is The Xbox version fluctuateed more so they capped it. Theres no reason why if PS4 in scenes was between 34 - 50 and Xbox same scene was solid 30 all the way through that Xbox 1 could of reached 40 - 50 when PS4 was 60. But the juddering was probably alot more noticeable on Xbox due to bigger fluctutations betwen 30 - 50.

All in all the Xbox isnt miles behind PS4 in terms of power. Theres a 20 fps difference on average with 1 capped and 1 not. So who knows uncapped the difference may have been between 10 -15 fps on average. Either way capped Xbox 1 version was probably the way to go for Xbox.

Same applies to PS4, which is capped at 60, what if that was left unlocked maybe it would of hit highs of 80 fps, brining up the average closer to 60.

Keep on Spinning Selnor.

Watching the IGN graphics comparison video on the projector, shows massive differences between the version. XBO is constatly washed out looking, and much blurrier than the PS4 version. This pic does a great job depicting the lack of or lower quality tessilation, textures, AA, and many other effects that plague the XBO version throughtout.

With all the footage availible now, PS4 has the best version hands down, even over PC. XBO looking worse and running at slideshow framerates in parts does not bode well for more demanding games in the future. It will be interesting to see what happens with games built from the ground up for next gen platforms.

This gif caught me by surprise though. With the talk completely centred around framerate, it never occured to me to compare the graphics. There is screen tearing too but not in this particular shot. If you watch the DF comparison video again, you'll see the red bar on the X1 version. This indicated screen tearing.
