Wow at the spin both sides are pushing in this thread. Truly astonishing.

I mean this article is in no way controversial yet here we are arguing over what exactly.

Both versions seems to perform inline with their PC counterparts. PS4 does particularly well in matching the 7870. Where the X1 performs slightly better than a 7770.

Thats inline with the expected performance difference given the differences at a hardware level for the GPU's. I would say the PS4 version seems to perform slightly better than expected as it matches the 7870.

Its also interesting to see that the memory architecture differences doesnt seem to make much difference...the gulf in performance can be fully explained by the difference in gpu compute performance.

Another thing we dont really know is what level is this version running at. Watching the gameplay it looks pretty close to Ultra on PC imo. Thats quite an accomplishment i would say given the generally underpowered hardware.

Edit: The X1 version is locked at 30 so its not a fair comparison. However they wouldnt lock the game to 30 if the FPS was consistantly much higher. The x1 version looks pretty smooth as well so X1 owners should still go out and buy it looks waaaay better than the last gen version. PS4 sticks between 40 - 50 FPS most of the time so i think not locking to 30 was a good move.

Ports were handled by two different companies neither of which were Crystal Dynamics. It makes sense from a technical point of view to have the Xbone version capped at 30fps for 1080p games. If the developer decided to go with 720p then yeah it could have had an unlocked frame rate like the PS4 version for a perceptual 60fps experiance.

I'm glad to see this gen so far screen tear seems to be a thing of the past or at least there's hardly any noticeable tearing.

poorly optimised game in general for Nvidia.

AMD paid the developers to make AMD optimization a priority during development. It's a shady practice but Nvidia does it too.

Taking how frequently the one version didnt budge and ps4 coming within 8 - 12 fps, its actually closer in power than i expected. So uncapped id expect xbo one to average around 40. Iam happy the version im getting is locked and steady. Ps4 does fluctuate to much for me. At one point the ps4 version didnt go above 52 for 45 seconds. Going as low as 34 while xbox one didnt move from 30.

Honestly I noticed more judder on the PS4 version, Nixxes probably should have locked the PS4's framerate too since they weren't able to achieve a smooth 60.

Of course you see judder in PS4... the YouTube video runs at 30fps lol... 60fps capture converted to 30fps video generates a lot of judders.

I think that you are understanding it wrong. Read the B3D post: A trailing average calculated from x refresh samples (at say 60hz) can make variation between 20 and 30 hz look like less than 20. It all depends on when you start and end the period you use to calculate the figure.

I think they will try to fix to the full face-off... and if the game freeze 12 frames in one second for a 30fps game then it have only 18 frames in that second... so 18fps.

Yeah, AMD calls it "AMD: Gaming Evolved", what it really means is "we paid the developers to prioritize AMD hardware when optimizing the game". The list of AMD: Gaming Evolved titles includes Sleeping Dogs, Tomb Raider, Battlefield 4, and Hitman Absolution, I think the upcoming Thief as well. But like I said, Nvidia does it too, pretty much any game that you see bundled with an Nvidia graphics card had Nvidia optimization paid for by Nvidia, games like Assassins's Creed IV and Metro: Last Light. You'll also see Nvidia pay developers to use PhysX in their games instead of another physics effects solution, since AMD graphics cards can't run PhsyX, Borderlands 2 was one such game.
