Forums - Gaming - Microsoft have a philia of spending money

I see no issue with that.

If they have money then they need to spend it.

I wished Sony and Nintendo bought some extra support.. Sony had a few first party games not worthy of being first party and well ..Nintendo.. they just need more games

Ideally mostly on their own IP's and more preferably on their own original IP's and their own developers?

No use in saving money forever. What's the point in keeping all those dollars if you aren't going to use them?

I think it was a good move.

Fuse got everything it deserved,

No game deserves to bomb; especially those who are made by developers with "such a huge fanbase". The game may have been crap, which I disagree because it was a 6/10 game, but a "fanbase" should stay strong and purchase the game regardless these things happen. Hence why the term "fanbase" can never be applied to anything, as people didn't like what they saw, no matter how much respect they had to Insomniac.

Microsoft didn't purchase Insomniac, though. After they revealed Sunset Overdrive, didn't Insomniac reveal Ratchet & Clank: into the Nexus?

But why would insomniacs fanbase buy fuse, overstrike was what they liked, the colourful cartoony characters and world with alot of expandable potential. After that it just looked like another shooter. It was fun but I felt cheated for £40.

Use them in developing your own Ip's, or creating studios to create exclusive games for you. Or also rather than buying out, but helping smaller devs like Sony do with their pub fund, which is a fund dedicated to original IP's from small devs in exchange for a few months exclusivity. Usually 3-6.

And that is why every Ratchet and clank has managed to sell atleast 1 million despite lower efforts being paid to them. A4O was not a good R&C and FFA was decent but had a short pointless story with a forgettable online. Yet they did good enough to induce a sequel as well as a r&c movie

MS had money last gen too...you cannot buy your way to the top, MS won't keep buying IP's. gears was always exclsuive anyway. Eventually it becomes counter productive and you have to get your return on investment. Also with ps4 having as bigger install base it's going to get harder and harder to cut yourself off from a huge number of gamers.

Third party exclusivity = bad for gaming period.

That's one way to do that... there are others... I don't blame them for that.
