MS had money last gen too...you cannot buy your way to the top, MS won't keep buying IP's. gears was always exclsuive anyway. Eventually it becomes counter productive and you have to get your return on investment. Also with ps4 having as bigger install base it's going to get harder and harder to cut yourself off from a huge number of gamers.
Third party exclusivity = bad for gaming period.
