No; I wouldn't buy it. Nintendo's problem isn't that their systems are weak - it's that they have no third party support. No matter how powerful their next system was - would they be getting the same games as PlayStation or Xbox? The answer is no. Nintendo's demographics and core audience is vastly different that that of Sony and Microsoft so it's no wonder that many publishers don't find it worthwhile to publish their games on the platform. Nntendo's fans don't want a powerful system; they take whatever Nintendo gives them and are satisfied with it. Non-Nintendo fans (who would be the ones looking for a powerful gaming machine) know that there are better options for them elsewhere and might not want the experienes tat Nintendo is offering.

I'd only consider it if all my complaints toward Nintendo's stupidness when it comes to online services and features are dealt with. But that's the same issue I have with Wii U. So either console I would buy.

I think it's safe to say that this imaginary mega-system has a strong online component as well to justify its subscription charges.

Well, I've been burned with Nintendo promises before. I see before I purchase with them now :P.

I didn't really read the OP. I'd buy it. Why? Because it's Nintendo.

Plus the idea of a console/monster hybrid appeals to me.

It looks sorta like a T-Rex with Wiimotes for arms and an N64 analogue stick on its head.  It's also part-zombie and shits tornados.

No, all that would mean is that it neutralises the multiplatforms. I still wouldnt be interested in the exclusives and it doesnt have anything similar to PS+ so I would have to spend more on games for it.

I'd probably buy it. But just because its powerful doesnt mean it'd be capable of winning 3rd party support back. Also not many of Nintendo's IPs would be able to really showcase the power of this hypothetical console anyway, so not many would notice unless it had right 3rd party support to really show off the system

Hell yeah!  I'd pre-order the hell out of that thing. But then Sony would just make one with built in rumble or something that shits hurricanes and is part Walking Dead walker (been in development since before this thread) and sell twice as much.

Sure Nintendo's IP's could.  SMB3 was a graphic powerhouse for its day, DKC was the most beautiful game of its generation, M64 and Z:OoT were nothing short of groundbreaking and Mario Galaxy and Xenoblade pushed Wii to its limits.  Nintendo has traditionally been known as a graphics masterpiece maker.

N64 and Gamecube would like to talk with you.

I'm pretty sure I would buy one to pair up with my PS4.  One thing I would hope for would be that Nintendo goes back to making a traditional controller their primary controller for the system, and make the Wii-Mote an accessory instead of the norm.  I think the graphics and control scheme have been a large factor in devs not getting on board in the past few years.
