Not really. Halo is junk without Bungie, and Halo was 10 times as popular as Gears. You can't just buy the name and characters and switch devs. It doesn't work. Ask Crash lol.

Oh man, that is quite the big news. With a new developer, we might see a refreshing new installment like Halo 4 under 343i :).

Yeah, Halo 4 was the least popular mainline Halo game ever released lol. Without the original devs, it just doesn't work.

So.. anyone already found out where the 2 million difference is between vgchartz 20 million vs the 22 in the article??

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Wow how do people support this company (microsoft), they make me fume. They managed to spend a billion dollars on the industry and shrink it. all there bullsh*t is contractionary and ends up with less people p[laying less games. they barely spent a cent on new ips all of it went to paying for exclusive rights and now existing ips staying exclusive rather than letting multiplats be multi and putting that moneyu into new ips or studios meaning more games and more ips. stop buying there products

So...you're mad that Gears of War isn't multi-plat?

nope couldnt care less about this specific incident ive played gears 1 and 2 thought they were ok, just another game but it just highlights was microsoft is about and its not good for consumers clearly

Halo 4's almost 9 million sales disagree.

Compared to Halo 3? That's a MASSIVE drop. Take a look at the install base in 2007. Now look at what it was when Halo 4 launched. The number are staggering. Plus, people fled Halo 4's MP pretty quickly.

ODST is from Bungie as well, and compared to Halo 3, there is an even bigger gap than from 4 to 3.

I'm talking mainline titles (1,2,3,4). Side stories never sell that well lol

Unfortunately, that isn't valid considering Reach outsold Halo 2.
