Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft acquired Gears of War rights. Black Tusk to develop the games

At least this will free up Epic to work on other things. Good for MS fans I guess since they will get more of what they want. I knew they wouldn't let the Gears IP die after Judgment, despite however poor of a reception it may have gotten.

Wow how do people support this company (microsoft), they make me fume. They managed to spend a billion dollars on the industry and shrink it. all there bullsh*t is contractionary and ends up with less people p[laying less games. they barely spent a cent on new ips all of it went to paying for exclusive rights and now existing ips staying exclusive rather than letting multiplats be multi and putting that moneyu into new ips or studios meaning more games and more ips. stop buying there products

Damn ewok looks creepy as hell.

Interesting move. Wonder how much they paid for it.

And I wonder how much steam is left in the IP. I'm sure GoW 4 (as with its PlayStation-initialed counterpart) will sell better than a non-numbered spinoff, but I have a feeling these two have run their course. Guess we'll see.

im on the market for a new next gen console sold my ps4 for profits after Christmas was going to rebuy one whne more games come out

now with this news idk, i like gears and a few other ms exclusives but only want one console per gen, MS is also looking like the underdog this gen sales wise but with huge potential like the ps3 was. this is a excellent opportunity for my bold i believe prediction threads to return. . . decisions decisions

I think this is a good thing because now the developer can focus on just one system and it'll reach out to a familiar fanbase. Never played Judgement but heard it wasn't as good as the trilogy. I hold soooo many memories with Gears 1, it was the first multiplayer game that I heavily got into and fell in love with the game the moment I started playing. I'm glad this franchise is continuing and cannot wait to play Gears on Xbox One. Imagine how good the graphics!!!! are going to be!!!!

This is my thinking too. I love Gears of War but I wonder how valuable the IP is in 2014. It's not exactly a franchise like Super Mario or Gran Turismo or Forza that can continue ad infinitum.

Anyway, congrats to Microsoft for a bold, decisive move. Looking forward to the new game

This franchise is dieing just like God of war is on Playstation. I wonder how much MS had to put out to get this.

Both games are in dire need of a reboot.

So a new gears of war is probably the un announced game black tusk has been working on!

I'm disappointed if it is, it want new Ip's.....the recipe of gears halo and fable isn't doing shit for me anymore
