Would anyone be intrested to buy their TV division? I mean I can understand the interest in a spinoff of the entertainment division but in the TV division... brand value down.. expensive production lines.. can't see anyone who wants that..

Maybe buy the Bravia branding? Other than that it seems worthless. Sony really need to swallow their pride and ditch TV's. They're low margin for the best of companies.

I personally think that they should kill off their TV and Vaio* divisions. Drive up investment in mobile/tablets. Try a restart on PSVita (only has one more chance, though) (new model. cheaper, longer battery life, support SD cards). Get a PSNow box out there. Some kind of PSThree

I'm not so sure how their movie/music stuff is going. I guess industry standard, music on a long-term down and movies up.

*If people are buying for style, they buy Apple. If they're buying for getting shit done, they buy Lenovo. I guess they could go after gaming laptops? But that's a niche market, and Alienware already has it pretty locked down, so... In TV, Samsung are pretty much unstoppable at this point.

Sony needs to hurry up and start making TV's that only last 3 years, and laptops that may get you through 2. Seems to be what people want these days. Instead of $800 to get you through the next 8 years, why not 3 or 4 easy payments of $450. Forget that that is $200 a year compared to $100, and that 3 or 4th $450 device still under performs the old $800 one.
