Yeah, i know. I was comparing the two wich was what the topic was aluding to. For me, Gold would be a better deal, IF i subbed to one.
Though chances are i wont ever sub to PS+ just like i didnt sub for Gold. I dont play online enough to justify paying a subscription. I do my online gaming on the PC where its free.

And another detriment of PS+ is it would make my backcatalog go completely out of control (cause they add so many games to the service with Vita, PS3 and PS4) if Sony were to add to it at ltheir leasure. I like to finish my games. I always feel bad when i dont.

Yup. Thats how i would feel.

veritaz it gets bettvery apt and I totally agree. By the time I get an Xb1 I would like a good service so I could hopefully get some exclusives I don't have to buy. Currently though PS+ destroys GOG by a huge margin. It's like a tank fighting a prius.

Lol.your analogy about a tank is very apt  and i totally agree. Anyone who thinks the ms service is better is biased or just plain silly.

Games nowadays have, mostly, 6-8 hours worth of single player. After that, it's garbage to me. So, I prefer to keep my garbage digital and not have to pay a buckload for it, thank you very much. Rent it is, then, if rent is how some people call it.

1 year.

errr I don't think so. Unless I am mistaken on the dates, PS+ launched mid 2010 and the Instant Game Collection launched mid 2012. Either way even 1 year makes my point for me. But I am pretty sure I am right. Games with Gold is not even a year old yet.

Another thing to remember is PS+ on PS3 kind of has to give out more games because the games are the absolute main reason to use the service on PS3. It's how they get you to pay. XBL on the other hand, Games with Gold is not the reason to use it on 360, it's online play. MS doesn't need to put as much value into it because the value is there in other areas.

This is why on PS4 you've seen no retail PS+ games yet and the only retail game they have announced as part of the service isn't even a real game it's a "PS+ Edition" demo of the game. Sony no longer needs to put as much value into PS+ as it's now a requirement on the PS4 to play online. It will be interesting to see what happens with each service now on both platforms.

Theres no retail because theres no 6 month old games yet, thats when they will start, Drive Club had to be a cut down edition or Shops would of been loathe to even stock it, if you could get the full game for less by buying a Plus SUB. The full retail games will come, my bet would be the week after E3 with a big E3 announcment.

You flatter Sony to much if you think MS are copying Sonys lead of being a bit shit for the first year to magically turn it around at the following E3, most companies would just try and comepete with the current standard not emulate the other companies mis steps as well.

Sweet on the One i get to KEEP my crappy 1990's game.

That doesnt make sense. It comes out Summer 2014. Meaning this time round games will still be £25/$40 brand new. So we will get launch games worth $40 in sumer absolutely free. And 2 per month. Or maybe 1 per month and 1 $15 Live title like Max The Curse Of the Brotherhood.

This time round imo Live Gold destroys PSN+ Rental service. As Xbox players are actually getting up to date free games. FREE.

What's worth $40? The WHOLE XBONE LINEUP was at $40 on launch week and Black Friday, LMAO.

And you Xbox fans only see plus a rental service, but you dismiss THE DISCOUNTS. I got Tales of Xillia, a game from August 2013, Puppeteer a game from September, and Limbo also an awesome game, all for $20. Can you get a similar combo of awesome recent games for $20 on Xbox Live? LMAO, NO. Ni No Kuni, the RPG of the year was at $13.99, Deus Ex Director's Cut for $20, etc etc, Xbox Live can't even compare.

Actually, XBL Gold has pretty great discounts, too.  Full retail games forabout $5 sometimes.  It's just that nobody here ever makes a thread about it.

To add to this, this week with the new xbox live gold deals I was able to get The Witcher 2, Tales of Vesperia, and Dark Souls for a combined total of $20. Sure not as recent but three pretty great games nonetheless.

I'm interested to see what they do with the XBONE. It's so new that they can't just give out big retail games like they've been doing on 360. PS4 is in the same boat, but we see that their solution is to make games free at launch, such as Resogun, don't starve, contrast, outlast, and drive club. The Vita's solution to this was to just not get free games till a year after launch.

I have a feeling we will see something fun drop  at E3 for the Xbox One.  Bear with me, it's like when they dropped Kinect Fun Labs.  Give early adoptors a little something extra to play with.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

Microsoft owes their community so much more for all the nickel and diming.

MS doesn't owe anything. Nobody was forced to buy Xbox products.

Sony fucked up for much of the 7th gen and that forced them to be more competitive. MS should offer more to compete with Sony, not because they owe it.

Who said they had to force you Some people dont complain because they cant see things not do they like to get confrontational when things matter (Thats definitely not me.). Sony has given Sony gamers quite a bit over the years. When owning both systems its about time Microsoft did the same when they've been profiting more and giving back little to nothing.

PS+ you keep the game as long as your subscribed to PS+ if you let your sub pass without renewal and then a month or 2 later renew you get your games from before back, on the PS4 if your playing online which i have to believe most are then its not a issue being your a PS+ member already.

IMO Xbox Gold Games starts on The One in Summer 2014? Meaning the first games are only 6 moths old. So on the Xbox One at least this program imo is far better than PSN+ as users will be getting 2 games a month still worth £25 each brand new and TO KEEP, NOT Rent.

On 360 it started really late, and so we got games worth nothing and already played. But now we get games up to date and still worth money brand new.

IMO Ill take a free copy of DR3 in June to keep and then say Crimson Dragon? Thankyou Microsoft for saving me £50/month on games I would have waited longer to purchase.

Absolutely awful reason, try harder.  PSN+ is 100% better than anything LIve Gold can give. Sure next month alone with PS+ you get Bioshock:Infinite, Metro:Last light, PS4 survival horror title Outlast and two PS Vita titles.  So Two PS3 games that were released last last year, a brand new PS4 title and two PS vita games that were released a couple of months ago.

How can Live even compare to this?

Also what are you even talkingt about with the bolded lines?

So during the whole XBO DRM thing, arguments were that you didn't really own your games and that was evil, right?

But when the same issue is brought up with PS+ and it's "free" games that you own only if you maintain your subscription it's a non-issue, right?

Consistency is a bit much to ask of people I guess ...
