As a person who started on the first Final Fantasy that was on the NES here in the states, I have to say, FFX was when it started to slip for me. It was still a good game, but the new style and overall themes started to turn me off. Then I played FFXI online, and after about 3 months, I cancelled my subscription and never went back. Then I begrudgingly tried FFXII, and actually found Fran so cute that I kept playing through it, though the game never really drew me in. THEN, I played FFXIII, and that was the lid on the coffin. I was so turned off by the way the story was delivered, and how far they took FFX's style that I didn't even come close to considering FFXIII-2.

And THEN I played Xenoblade Chronicles, and that drove the final nail into the coffin for FF for me. Cool story, bro? I know, but having played FF since the NES, I miss the classic style, the more mythological and "steam powered" days of lore. Xenoblade Chronicles took me back to the older FF style, and now I'm all over Monolith Soft's nuts, lol

I've played every Fai Fan game but FFXI/FFXIV (im no into mmo's), didnt like FFIII and FFV though (mainline), but lets move on. Having played Fai Fan since the supossed to be the last game of squaresoft, i can say with confidence i do really enjoy an ever-changing franchise like this one so... why people ask for the same game? well, it doesnt matter, the point is that i actually played those games, is that clear? yeap, i played those games... Everyone of them...  Didnt miss one (mmo's doesn count)...

Back on topic, yes i know a lot of people didnt like FFXIII, yes i can even see why, so i wont dare to try to change your mind. That being said, if you want to promote Xenoblade at least try to be subtle at least, seriously that hurts. You can always make a thread about how awesome it is, i mean, i know n-fans are a little obsessed with the best of all time- title, but come on, that was forced.

Wha? o_O  I mentioned Xenoblade Chronicles a SINGLE time in my post, and it was the last sentence, even...

Having said that, I didn't say I wanted the same thing over and over again (Are you seriously suggesting that having played up through FFX, the series did not change quite a bit along the way!?), however, the way they're going now feels too... too "emo", to put it kindly.  It's going the way of teenage hormones, emotions, and rage.  The classic style had "class", I think the new direction is going "teenager" WAYYYY too much.

Hate to say it but that's the FF's target audience (its not like grown up  people cant play it), btw xenoblade and classic FF are the same for that matter (people seems to be selective when it comes to nostalgia games).

About the xenoblade's awkwardness, ermmm you dedicated all your first post pointing out how good FF used to be an all, and how good is xenoblade because of that (kinda). I apologize if that advertise wasnt intentional, but you cant blame me. It really seems out of place.

No prob! And I just checked, the costume you get for posting your score is Siegfried's from Final Fantasy VI.

Thanks! Apparently we only get that when the full game comes out.

Anyways for PSN users we do get a free DLC that is exclusive to PSN only :O.

Played the demo and seems pretty short and somewhat sweet :P.

The battle system isnt that whole lot different from XIII and XIII-2 other than the fact that rather than using a command list to input commands you press the face buttons to do different attacks. ATB gauge decreases depending on what moves you use and you can instantly change between 3 different garbs seems like it. You can also slow down time which is nice :O - I am guessing that is in line for as somewhat of a replacement for not having support characters.

Although two things which I'm not a fan of or seem to have doubt are the time limit feature which in my experience has led to a pretty bad result when it comes usual things you would expect from a RPG (i.e. storyline and length) - prime example being Breath of Fire Dragon Quarter.

Another thing that irked me a bit was the limitation of consumables. Seems like you can only carry a set number of items, for an example you have 5 slots.

-XPotion
-XPotion
-XPotion
-Ether
-Empty Slot

Not sure if they were adding to the difficult but its whatever.

Also you dont recover HP anymore after battle which I kinda miss :P but no worries especially for a FF Veteran.

Demo was really short though (are they all like that?) - this was my first demo *_*!

Second one will be BD!

More detailed view of what I thought of the demo on my wall :O.

Oh yeah I'm aware it's only when the full game comes out, but still, free costumes! :D

And I''m pretty sure it was 6 slot for the items, but I like that limitation. Gives it a survival feel to it and so does the time limit. I can understand that having the full game based on that can induce pressure, but the devs said the average player shouldn't run out of time in a given playthrough. But yeah, the demo is great, I personally really enjoyed it!

Also, the Bravely Default demo is much longer. It has several hours of content, so no worries.

I played it, but I didn't feel it was long enough to come to any conclusions. Seemed quite fun, though I'm not sure that I really like the idea of playing as 3 characters who are all Lightning

Also, how do I get the Yuna costumes? Are they DLC or part of the game? I quite want the Cloud DLC, but don't really want the Steelbook that comes with it in the UK

I just played it, man my rating suxs. lol!

I did not like the limited inventory space much.

We just need to share the score to the network to get the DLC, right?

While Xenoblade's VOICE ACTING was subpar, the overall story theme, twists, and characters all have decidedly more "mature"-themed situations/scenarios.  In other words, while FF has gone from more mature themes with more complex stories to more teenage themes with convoluted stories, Xenoblade Chronicles follows the classic FF formula (don't know why you missed me saying that in my FIRST post in this thread), which I much prefer.

Its the beginning of the game - not even 30 minutes lol.

You make a persuasive argument Basil.

Yeah the demo is really short, I read through the dialogue between Lightning and Hope - read the tutorials and explored a bit to see if there were items (there werent any), set up the outerworld connections (to post my score to get the DLC) and fought a mini boss (which can be repeatable until you get whatever score you want to post on FB - I did it twice).

Really not much of a spoiler - all the scenes we've seen were pretty much what was shown in actual story trailers.

And all of that took me no more than 20 minutes actually.

The demo is not worth playing by itself but to get two pieces of DLCs (for PSN users) or just one (for xbox360 users) its worth it.

For PSN users - downloading the demo gets you one DLC and the other DLC once you finish the demo.

What DLC?

When you finish the demo you will get this or will be placed in line to get this (when you get the full game)

Thanks, nothing special though (though maybe it is different in the UK?)

I want the Yuna DLC and Cloud DLC, but Cloud DLC makes me get a steelbook that I don't want
