I honestly do think Nintendo should leave the console race. I'm not hating on them. I just don't see where they can go. Take away the Wii's success and it's clear Nintendo have had this coming for quite a while now. They just can't compete with Sony (and now Microsoft) in the console market.

Their handhelds are VERY POPULAR. That's what they should focus on for the foreseeable future.

Just put all of those IP on the PS4! It's going to dominate this gen so that's where te profit is.

Umm no, this is a gross over simplification. How did x1 and PS4 have large third party support befiore they sold 1 console? They made systems that make it easy for publishers/developers next gen titles to run on, and to develop for. Not too mention having robust online infrastructure. nintendo also have not dont anything to really try to foster positive third party goodwill toards them and are payign the price now.

 

Nintendo made a weak system way too late in the gen, when most devs are moving on too next gen engines, making putting the games on the wii-u a head ache. Then there is the gamepad.

 

Said engines run on WiiU anyway. Dont be daft

WiiU and Xbox and PS4 had similar third party support upon release. WiiU had cancelled games though. Its all about the sales

Weak system my ass that will only start to be a problem when fucking engines cant scale for shit and devs have to start removing parts like global illumination and the like, but thats nothing compared to having to make different VERSIONS of the game like Activision did on the Wii.

 

The nIntendo network does everything you need for online. If you want system wide implementation of voice chat then lol.

If you want cloud account systems then sure,. BUT THAT ISNT AN ONLINE INFRASTRUCTURE. THATS A SERVER.

Remember how much support the WiiU had before release? IN its first year? How games got cancelled before it launched due to THQ, Lucas Arts and EA shenanigans? Remember how that went over?  I do.

ERr, NIntendo Network is consistently more stable than PSN, and when it comes to using its online features and functionality. Ever play Monster Hunter? Nintendo's servers are good. Ever played Tekken Tag? The netcode on that game is sweet as hell.  And NIntendo's own online games are tight.

Do you have an actual facts to back up what you're saying, because I have my own experience and the word of many whom I've worked with on the system and data thats FULLY ACCESIBLE TO THE PUBLIC ON TEH FORUMS, that you can go and read.

Or are you content to circlejerk and lie like a neogaf mod?

Its a well designed and built network backbone. People are crying about FEATURES, nothing is inherently wrong with the NETWORK BACK BONE.

 

People who wish to sidestep instead of talking about hte prevelancy of middleware and the actual CAPABILITIES of the system do not deserve

 

Project Cars is going to be on teh WiiU for a Reason. Shin'en is making games for the WiIU for a reason , indies are coming to the WiiU in droves for a reason

I know you're joking, but I really wish that would happen. I want to play Nintendo games, I just don't want to buy a Nintendo system. 

We'd get less games like Tearaway. Stop trying to dreamcast the WiiU its not a bad console, NIntendo leaving it without features is the problem.

People are really not understanding the point of makign software and hardware that work so closely together.

Stop asking for it on the shitty ps4, ask for it on PC, then you have INFINITE power to deal with it.
